Has anyone else noticed the absolutely dire range of minis available of the GW website for this.
Chaos for example only has the plastic cruisers and iconoclast.
Imperialism equally dire, vengeance cruiser I think.
Necrons only the tomb ship.

Is BFG about to go under?

Well that sucks.

Now what do I do with my semi bag fleet.

To clarify, they have not been "officially dropped" (at least not yet), but production of the models has ended as part of metal mini draw down, which probably means that games will be discontinued when last models are sold out. Some of the games may return in some form later, who knows, but don't count on it.

Just suppliment what you have with models from other systems. Firestorm Armada has some cool looking ships and the scale isnt' too horribly off.

Plus can always keep an eye on ebay, and the other eye cheekily on shapeways or something. Give it a year or two and it'l likely get the space hulk limited edition treatment.

As others have said there is no "official" end for BFG announced...just a discontinuing of the metal models.

Does this mean it is being dropped? Quite possibly.

However, as personal speculation...I don't think it is.

here is why;
In IA12 - Came out late last year.
There are several referneces in the campaign section to playing games with battlefleet gothic. This has the implication that the writers at the time felt it would be an option.
Granted this is weak...but epic is NOT listed...also...

IA3- Volume 2 - Taros book - release in the spring
All of the epic referneces and scenarios were removed. :(
However...
Not only are the BFG scenarios and section STILL IN THE BOOK (they may have been edited slightly as well, but not much). This includes the rules references and stats for the tau fleet.

So, there was a conscious and deliberate action to remove epic, and keep BFG content in the book.

Read into that what ever you want.

Me, personally, I suspect they don't waste pages, printing and reformatting content for nothing - and that BFG may return...
