In other news, Black Bullets keep being a shiny beacon of what means to be an awesome anime. The pacing of this last episode was ridiculous, KLK style, it just kept delivering more and more awesome until the grand finale!

Spoiler:
AN EPIC FALCON PUNCH! I'm sorry Evangelion, what's that? You needed a Positron Sniper Rifle to take care of that Angel? Here they use LIGHT SPEED FISTS OF FURY.

Eva had railguns too, but I must say, that one looked pretty badass. I don't know why they were freaking out so much.

Spoiler:
"i might miss!"
Wait? Your firing at close to the speed of light, so you hit the dam target in less that a 1000th of a second after you fire that cannon. You don't even have to worry about bullet drop mate! That, of course your worryed that the shell being an... arm... might mess things up.

I bet the people in this show can count themselves lucky that they don't need to deal with AT fields. Not even that railgun would help them then.

Spoiler:
Actually, I'm pretty sure a linear gun capable of firing near light speed wouldn't give two gaks about AT fields. Remember, the also shot an angel by just pumping a load of power into a fat beam rifle. Something moving at near light speed would carry so much more kinetic energy it's not even funny.

AT Fields can be overpowered with enough power. I've discussed this before on a TTGL vs NGE thread, and the end result was that no matter what Mind Screw NGE can think up off, the sheer power of even the standard Gurren Lagann is enough to tear through an AT Field.

Gurren Lagann can break the fabric of space and time with a punch, I don't think an AT field would mean much.

As for Black Bullet, where the hell does it go from here? I mean that was pretty much season finale material right there. Any threat that tops that is going to be getting dangerously close to over the top silly.

I was sick for the past week so I watched the first season of Log Horizon. It's very good, much better than SAO.

Well, to be honest, KLK also had a ridiculous pacing and everything went together perfectly, giving us those weekly massives quantities of awesome. HOPEFULLY, Black Bullet does the same.

Spoiler:
And I honestly want that villain to return. "Cry, Sodomy. Sing, Gospel." Even his guns were badass! Loved that guy!

SAO is just a death game, nothing new. LH is more orientated towards actual gaming, tactics, levels, rows, ect. I never really liked SAO, it didn't take advantage of it'd medium very well.

ya Log Horizon meshed with it's environment a lot better. The only real problem I had with it is to much build up into nothing. Episodes would be spend getting to some plot point only to have it all end in a few minutes, or not result in a very exciting climax

Honestly, No Game No Life is the avatar of "Gets gak Done" meme.

Spoiler:
1st ep - They defeat God.
2nd ep - They have a palace
4th ep - Kings of Imanity
Next stop: CONQUER THE WORLD
Final stop: BECOME GOD.

And that speech was fantastic. By the end when he declares war on the entire world, chills, chills down my spine. What a fantastic anime.

Watching SAO right now, actually.

I like it, myself, but for the same reason I enjoy the character of Superman- the subtext involved. SAO isn't about the game. That's a sad thing, as the world of the game was obviously a rich one, and could have had opportunity for magnificent visuals.

But the human story behind it was a good one. It was almost "Day in the life", but with the drama and tension of Death as a looming threat- they didn't spend too much time over-hyping the "OMG you're caught in a game! If you die in-game you die in real life! We're being betraaaaayed!" that you'd almost expect from the setup they gave- instead they use the game's backdrop to tell a story of love and loss and gain and living. They sort of use the game as a tool so that they can have deadly traps and vicious murder without being bogged down in the gore and shock of viscera, and to avoid 'Anime Protagonist Syndrome Plot Armour' by, again, letting the game mechanics handle that- and so you end up with a teenage protagonist that can 'realistically' have a 'higher power level' than everyone else- because teenagers often obsessively play videogames until they're incredibly skilled at that game.

Another thought I had within the first 'game' of SAO was that it could, in a way, be an allegory for addiction. You have those who are trying to overcome it- those who succumb- those who are in denial (and hurt others all the more for it) and those who just give up- it's an interesting thought, though it does fall apart once the game is beaten.

Having enjoyed SAO so far, I'm going to be looking forward to watching Log Horizon if people all say it's better. I just hope it has as much finesse as SAO, and doesn't rely on flashy visuals and over the top action to carry a mediocre plot.

So just watched Black Bullet, i'm slightly disappointed....

It advanced way too quickly.... 4 episodes and it feels like I could stop watching and not miss anything? Seems a bit odd. Wasn't enough enough time to get attached to some of the characters either.

It's good, but not as good as I expected it to be. Heres hoping the next few episodes do something good to make me want to watch it.

Yeah, except some of the more rabid NGE fanboys seem to think they can just lock Team Dai-Gurren into some kind of dimensional prison (the Dirac Sea or whatever it's called). Or Third Impact...funny how those morons couldn't respond when I pointed out that Team Dai-Gurren managed to free themselves free from the Anti-Spirals' lotus-eater machine.

Even as a firm NGE fan, Team Dai-Gurren surely can break through the Dirac Sea. Third Impact I am not sure, but I think that might be a minor speed bump at worst.

Do you know what a Dirac sea is? It's not really something you can break out of. I'm no fanboy, but it's in the definition of the space, as far as NGE is concerned. The lotus eater machine really only exists to have the protag escape from it. I've never seem one work before. Have you?

Edit: I still think that they would win though. You wouldn't be able to keep them standing around long enough to get them in one and then it would be a miracle if the sea was even big enough to fit them in.

Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san is quite possibly one of my favorite anime of the season, and one of the top "short" anime I've watched recently.

Coffin Princess Chaika also upped the stakes with another lethal loli hanging around. So it's clear what direction that's going now.

Also Love Live remains one of the best things ever, especially with their new animation method which is a significant upgrade. I am convinced I enjoy this anime a little too much.

Watched another couple of episodes of KLK, the ones with Gammagori's history.
It was ok. Didn't like how Ryuko suddenly pulled the exact form she needed to beat him out of her butt though. I hate that kind of story telling.
I think it would be hilarious though if Tim Curry voiced Gammagori when he's in his Shackle Regalia form. There would be much squeeing that day.
