Yup, you have to many beacons. Get rid of them all. Drop pods are accurate enough on their own. The only reason to take beacons is for non-pod drops supporting them. Things like shooty terminators (particularly with HFs) Vanguard Vets, or GoI librarians. Units that need to arrive precisely where needed. By the time you disembark from a drop pod, it's scatter is mostly irrelevant. And you have to work hard to get them to mishap.

I might mix things up a bit, but otherwise you have a pretty standard vulcan drop list. Should work fine.

Thank you!!!

with the point i spare from the locater beacons i can drop the devastator squad and taking another unit of tacticals , or other unit that can use drop pod.

The second list looks like a better all-around-list. You have a little bit everything except maybe some plasma, but twin-linked melta seems more than fine, haha.

Love the 2nd list. Add combi-melta or combi-flamers to the Tac sgts if you can and I'd say you're set for a really nice Salamanders style drop list.

...except that, as an all-reserve list, he'll be shooting before he gets shot, with the exception of a bit of Intercept. And how does a thunderhammer ("th") prevent you from getting shot? Did you mean "TH/SS Termies"?

Yes and they benefit fully from Vulcan, my preference is sterngaurd over dreads(4 hfs and 4 combi meltas in a 10 man drop) down combat squad pop some armor then 2 twin link heavy Flamers kill whatever is inside...yes he will get some shooting off but whatever is left will him down his marines like an impachi vs a car

Might i suggest dropping the Storm talon for some sort of fortification for AA.

The stormtalon is nice, but a lone one is not gonna be the best at AA, if thats what you were taking it for.

To many unpainted models to count.

I play a very fluff orientated Salamanders army as well. I have been playing them since 3rd edition and have had to change my army very little.

Things to think about.

Vulkan is good, so are the Dreds.

However, take Sternguard like everyone is saying! How is this fluff related? Salamanders live solitary lives when they are not fighting with their brothers. This allows them to improve their skills as craftsmen. So it would make sense that there are these hardened veterans in every salamanders army, with bullets and weapons they have crafted on their own.

They may not be scoring units but boy can they take out some heavy hitters that your opponents may field. Worried they may get charged? Combi-Flamers. Firewall of death.

I would drop the storm talon and take 3 fast attack bikes with multimeltas. The unit is 25 more points than the storm talon, and can tank hunt effectively, and really can't be instant killed by much.

Attention Campers. Lunch has been canceled today, due to lack of hustle.......Deal with it.
