I have one (or ordered) one unit of every type of infantry Mierce have done so far, but they do look so few when compared to all the Monsters I have to go with them. I can see myself spending a silly amount on this KS to really bulk my musters out.
I do hope they stick with the brass rods for spears and standards, I can see problems if they do these types of things in thin white metal.

Whilst I intend to remain a pure resin devotee for Darklands itself this makes me happy as a) anything that boosts possible take up of the game is good and b) the possibility of doing a Nature or Herd army in KoW with cheaper metals of my favourite models becomes realistic (since I can multibase using less models than a "full" regiment)

Ha ha - you know what I mean!
But seriously, this should really help in getting more people to jump on the Darklands train.
And just in time for the full rulebook release - clever, very clever!

Darklands: Metal Age is now live https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mierceminiatures/darklands-metal-age/description Darklands: Metal Age is a fantastic Kickstarter project from Mierce Miniatures designed to re-tool our miniatures to get you playing Darklands cheaply - for it provides you with an Infantry Starter Host in metal that includes a commander, infantry unit and monstrous infantry unit for just £60 ($90), saving you over 70% from the equivalent in resin. That means you're getting our amazing rank and file infantry at around £2 ($3) each! An example of a metal Ax-Drune, resin Ax-Drune and undercoated metal Ax-Drune A scale comparison between an Ax-Drune and miniatures from other manufacturers Backing Darklands: Metal Age is a great opportunity to get into the dark fantasy world of Darklands for the first time (especially as the Darklands: First Edition rulebook is just around the corner), to expand your existing Darklands collection or maybe just to grab some fantastic miniatures to paint. We'll give you the option to purchase everything in resin, too, if you're more of a painter than a gamer!

Offerings are understandably a bit limited at the moment, so nothing I really need yet... is there an a la carte option like was mentioned here, as I only see prices for the hosts?
I personally think I'd want just infantry in metal, not monstrous infantry, so it'd be nice to at least have the units offered by themselves.
Also, it's totally not Tuesday

Yeah, they said 27 pounds for a 10 man if you want them separately, and Rob was going to put up an option for 10 man warrior units as opposed to 7+command.
I wonder what might be next in the pipe? A brythonaid host with the Taelu and 2 dyndraigs seem likely. I'd like to see a Byzanti option. Not sure if they would mix in Infernii or use Tycho as there's no Byzanti monstrous infantry.

That's a lot more palatable to me - looking forward to seeing that option! If we want that, we'd just pledge for the £10 level but adjust the amount to be £27, right?

Yep!
I went in for 2 sets. Currently the only one I really need is the Formoraic one, but if another I really isnt unlocked, the extra cash can always go towards another wishlist item in their store, given how a pledge for one campaign can effectively used to buy something from another.

Ah I see it now, thanks:
Infantry Starter Hosts always contain:
- 1x General (increase your pledge by £6 to purchase separately)
- 1x Sorcerer (increase your pledge by £6 to purchase separately)
- 1x Infantry unit of 10x miniatures, including champion, banner bearer, herald and 7x warriors (increase your pledge by £27 to purchase separately). The 7x warriors include the alternate warriors of the banner bearer and herald
- 1x Monstrous Infantry unit of 2x miniatures (increase your pledge by £27 to purchase separately)...
- ...or 1x Monstrous Infantry unit of 3x miniatures (increase your pledge by £41 to purchase separately)
10% discounts from RRP are given on purchases of starter host contents. We want you to purchase the starter hosts!
The prices on the infantry seem very reasonable. Seems like the 3-man unit of Monstrous Infantry should have been £40 since 3 is actually ever-so-slightly more expensive to purchase per model than two
Very cool, will be watching to see if some things I can use get added!

Yeah, I about lost my mind when I saw a 10 model unit for £27.
That is cheaper than the ten-model plastics boxes from GW and a) are superior in design and sculpting and are b) metal

£60 for some gorgeous minis? I'm in to pack out my Duguth (a unit of 20 and 10 to fill out what I got), but I've got to persuade myself I don't need another kindred. Three kindred bought and a grand total of 14 miniatures painted is not a good ratio.

Get your £10 pledge in and you'll always be able to spend more in the store
(although it goes without saying that it helps unlock the stretches if you can pledge more now)

Yeah, the 14 days is kind of an odd choice. This project didn't have a lot of advance notice, and it gives people only 1 paycheck to cover it. If your mortgage/rent/car note falls due in that, it can put a real dampener on your ability to back.

I just threw a buck at Zombicide, since you can upgrade from that in the pledge manager. Plus now that they're up to 125K between stretch goals a single pledge makes any real difference. The $150 I'd spend there helps this a lot more.
At minimum, I suggest throwing a ten spot on Metal Age to gain access to the pledge manager. You might not have the funds now, but in a few weeks you'll probably be kicking yourself otherwise.

True the £10 to get in on the goodness is possible and then add more later which is what I usually do or spend it on other models in the shop.
I'd prefer new models really though, I've already spent my hobby budget on FW minis for this month.
Very interested to see where it goes though.

To be honest I'm waiting for a 4000 SEK (~$5-600) speeding ticket to drop in a month or two after I got caught on camera a week ago, so 30 days probably wouldn't have helped :/

It feels like Mierce has more than enough concepts to run a full 'Big' kickstarter just using stuff they've already shown in previous campaigns. I'd love to see them do something like that, as there's so many designs they've shown that are really amazing.
But then again, people always want new new new! And surprises always get people talking.
I suppose the hound horse will forever remain the 2D herald of a campaign's end.
