The centre of a massive brood chamber, heaving and pulsating.
This is without a doubt the worst best movie ever.
I am soooo seeing this.

It's funny, the people you find that like this movie. I was working with a company executive that is going between our different plants. An extremely intelligent man in his mid 40's, he brought this movie into a conversation with me and we began talking of the films in this genre and were cracking up about the premis.
MST3K, ye were taken from us too soon....
I can't lie. I watched this movie with my sister, and we all enjoyed it. We have a thing we call gakky Movie Sunday, when I am typically off, and we watch a movie that we sort of want to watch but that looks too bad to go see in the theater. Anyway this fit in nicely.

What's really fun is sitting in a roomful of the people that were in these types of movies. I'm pretty good friends with some of the stunt men and villains for the old "China O'Brien" movies, and hearing some of the comments they make while watching themselves is a hoot.

I love the Cynthia Rothrock movies. Also: anything by Albert Pyun or Godfrey Ho.

Yep, one of my best buds has his big scene in the cafe fight at 1:14, towards the end of the movie. They couldn't get anyone to take the motorcycle through the window, so he volunteered. He's also the guy in the front of the group watching the bike come through and getting bashed in the face with cymbals by Cynthia. He was in all the China O'Brien movies as a villain and said it was a blast. He's a fourth degree Black Belt in Ju Jitsu, so was the one they picked to do stunts, like getting kicked off the fire truck, etc.
There are a couple of scenes in the movies where he plays a couple different bad guys, one of which is blonde.
Just watched Sharknado. It was, um...it was something. Not clear what. To be fair, I was playing Injustice on my phone while watching, so I missed a lot of the plot points.
Oh....wait...

There's a big difference between what "Transformers" aspires to be versus what "Sharknado" aspired to be.
To give non-US posters an idea:
Sharknado is a SyFy Channel Original Movie. Some years back SyFy (before their name change from "SciFi Channel") stopped doing their miniseries(Tin Man, Dune, Alice, etc) as constant projects when they were convinced by Roger Corman to give a try to the 'creature double feature' styled films.
After a few months it became clear to their programming director(Craig Engler--he regularly posts on Twitter about TV ratings/programming related topics alongside of USA Network's Ted Linhart) that the 'creature double feature' films were obscenely popular. The more over the top and silly they were, the higher their viewer numbers. They started using these silly movies as lead-ins for new original programming/syndicated programming/movies that they had purchased the airing rights for.
The SyFy Channel Original Movies now are Roger Corman's babies, and the movies regularly snatch up 'lost stars' to bring them back into the light if only for a brief moment. They are over the top ridiculous nonsense that are not meant to be taken seriously.
And they are great for drinking games.
sharknado was also a ratings monster for Syfy, especially considering they did very little to promote the film. Most of the buzz it generated was word of mouth on social media. I know it gained 500k more viewer each time it was replayed. I think the 3rd airing of it hit something like 2.5M views which is pretty huge for a syfy movie

All three airings as well had #Sharknado trending like wildfire on Twitter. At one point it actually outtrended something related to Bieber.

i must admit when it premiered I first passed on it but then when my twitter feed BLEW UP with comments about it, I quickly felt like I was the only one in the world no watching it, then turned it on. I missed the first hour but least be honest...its not a hard to understand plot
I don't know what you people are talking about Sharknado is the Ben Hur of flying sharks in tornadoes movies.
-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Also, I am utterly convinced that Asylum stays in business purely on the money they get from SyFy.

Also, I know I mentioned it before, but it looks like work will interfere with me watching Ghost Shark on Thursday, as well as rewatching Sharknado. If anyone has a DVR and wants to record a copy of either/both off of TV for me, I'd appreciate it. I know you can't legally sell it, so I'll be happy to send shipment and the cost of a blank disc to cover your troubles by paypal. That makes the law happy, right?

I am curious, but I doubt it will trump Birdemic. As a schlock connoisseur I will probably buy it if it doesn't come out on instant view soon. I'll just have to watch FDR:American Badass again while I figger stuff out.
