I'm torn by the various options.
I used to use a riptide with ion and fusion with interceptor & skyfire (using primarily the fusion)
But I don't feel it is a good combo.
I like a lot of the options but am not sure which would be most beneficial.
Broadsides with rails & VT?
Skyray?
Crisis?
What would you say is the best?

I tend to enjoy Missile broadsides near mid field with EWO

All those twin-linked shots then to hit something.

Skyray, HYMP Broadsides with VT, HBC Riptides with VT and EWO.

Those are the best AA platforms in our Codex. The HBC riptide will need to nova charge, and it'll also need some markerlights.

Most fliers are only AV 10/11. The Heldrake, vendetta, and Stormraven are the only AV 12 ones I know of off the top of my head. Since so many of them have such low armor, you can get away with glancing them to death. I like to run 2 HYMP 1 HRR in my Broadsides so I can try to pen the av12 ones easier, but Glancing to death will work on everything else.

Broadsides with either gun loadout, and/or the firestorm redoubt are the best ones.

Definitely goes to HYMP broadsides with velocity trackers.

I would not even bother with the velocity trackers though. You can almost get 2 missile drones for the price of 1 velocity tracker and their BS2 is not a factor since they will be hitting on 6s regardless.

2 broadsides with 4 missile drones will put out 16 shots (half of which are twin-linked). I usually give 1 a drone controller and the other a velocity tracker to make them multi-purpose.

I was going to try out Broadsides with missile drones and HYMP led by a commander with dual missile pods and the PEN chip to give them tank hunters. I don't think drone controllers work on missile drones, do they? I thought it was only marker, gun, and sniper drones.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

Drone controller does not work with missile drones.

Also, the velocity tracker? never take it. costs way too much.

EWO with broadsides is enough to at the very least scare them into trying to dodge-rendering them ineffective.

EWO riptide with HBC also works well. (better in farsight with the "never mess up your nova" upgrade)

Beyond that, if you happen to have a skyray around it will be nice (but you really take them for alpha strikes)

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Do you mean Anti-Armour or Anti-Air? I presume Anti-Air...

1. Go to FLGS on a 40K game night.
2. Announce to no one in particular "I have over 10,000 points of Space Marines".
3. Sit back and watch as some 30-ish Neckbeard who still lives with his parents not only disputes your claim, but goes on to describe his 30,000 points of Blood Angels and how he has been playing since Rogue Trader days... And yet you will have never seen him either play 40K or that army.
4. From here, you have several options. Continue the conversation, or just end it. Either way, I guarantee you will waste 1+ hour of your life talking to this guy. Have fun!

HYMP Broadsides are unbeatable at anti air. Their problem is range, if you cant get them to the middle-ish of the board before fliers come out its pretty easy to just avoid them.

When i get my models back though i wanna try using Zephyr's Grace to get that thing up close. Usually the FW blob and Broadsides are out of range turn 1/2 anyway, so i might as well book it to the middle of the board, snapfire, then slowly back off.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.
