PP Digital is out and about in app stores today.

With Privateer Press Digital, you have access to an extensive catalog of No Quarter magazine issues, WARMACHINE and HORDES rulebooks, Iron Kingdoms Full-Metal Fantasy Roleplaying Game material, and much more! Take your Privateer Press rulebooks with you wherever you go for quick, easy reference. Download the latest No Quarter magazine straight to your device. Privateer Press Digital is the ultimate reference tool for the Privateer Press gamer!

The Privateer Press Digital e-reader app offers:

Digital subscriptions to No Quarter magazine!
WARMACHINE and HORDES books!
Iron Kingdoms RPG content!
Rulebooks for Privateer’s board and card games, including LEVEL 7 [ESCAPE], Heap, and Infernal Contraption!
Errata updates to ensure your digital rulebooks are up-to-date!

Just downloaded it now, and I'm reading through the Free IKRPG adventure. Seems pretty nice, scrolls and zooms very crisply, has some nice features, and the prices are a fair bit cheaper than even the soft covers. All together it feels very swish.

Are they interactive like the GW books or just high quality scans?

The release was plagued with delays. The app was officially released today.

it has been up on the Apple app store for a week, it seems...

the descriptions say PDF for the books, so not interactive...
it works on all iPads, but requires IOS 6.0, so it doesn't actually work on the iPad 1...
seems silly, as the GW stuff IS interactive, and still works on the iPad 1...
oh well, guess i'll have to wait until i get the iPad 4 later this year...

a lot of the newer apps and games are not supported on the iPad 1, as it doesn't do 6.0, even when the technical descriptions say something works on all models:(...

funny enough, i'm selling my surf shop, and including the iPad in the deal for the Square Reader (credit card reader) capability...
my partner is getting me a replacement, so i'll be 2 for 2 on free iPads...
thanks Nike and Quiverito...

i'm really liking digital subscriptions to magazines, and eBooks...
i move so much, that those boxes of books and magazines have always been a weighty hassle...

this should be a very usefull app for me, and about time, too...

cheers

I agree... it's pretty clear that this is where things are headed, I've got it for all my books now (with a few that I want a hard copy of as well) but not for miniatures-related books until recently.

i'll be moving back to Redondo Beach for a while, but not until next summer...
tropical winters are too nice, with good surf and warm water...

the thing with eBooks is just about saving space and weight...
too many boxes of books scattered around the globe...
i still collect rulebooks in print, but novels and magazines digital is great...

cheers

I have to say after a bit of playing around with the App for a while, I'm really liking it. If they make it able to rotate so I can read in landscape view, it'll be just perfect. It is just so smooth and loads very fast compared to some other PDF readers I've used. Definitely needs landscape view for phones, however, but I imagine it's just right on a tablet.

Nothing fancy in terms of reading them, but the classic NQs are a dollar and 3 cents, which I think is pretty awesome

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...
