Need some spikes, i feel. Maybe not as blatant as CSM, but trophy racks and whatnot would be good.

I like them, they've got a very dark appeal to them.

They're well done, but I don't get the chaos feeling from them. I would green stuff some mutations and brush primer on it. Add some spikes and trophies and some chaos symbols to.your vehicles.
They'll look great and are fun to do. Also, mutations don't have to be clean and pristine, so it's not as hard to pull off.

May I suggest ANGRY Tau?
Maybe those that hung around the kroot a little too much and went native?
They were impressed with the fighting spirit of the Orks and tried to emulate it?
Green suits with Purple pants maybe?
Joining Khorn would require rapid-fire pulse at neck level: "SKULLS ... zapzapzapzapzapzap... for the Skull Throne!!!"

The Warriors of Chaos Marauders box has some great bits you can use to convert Tau Fire Warriors into a grittier, meaner looking crew. I do that for my Farsight list, but it would work just as well for Chaos. Maybe a thought?
