So...does anyone else think the Centurions look stupid or is it just me? I mean...just look at them...They look like Hasbro came in and made them. Not to mention that Hasbro watched The Matrix and decided that they wanted one(Granted the same goes for the Dread Knight for the Grey Knights but at least I could think that thing looks....okay I won't lie it looks stupid too but at least that thing looks like it can move and fight like a normal person) but failed at the recreation. it's power armour...for power armour if I read some rumors correctly...idk I just think they look stupid.

As for Grav Weapons I'm actually looking forward to them because they seem interesting. Granted I'm not a Space Marine player(Okay tech I am because I place Space Wolves so what I should say is I'm not a Vanilla marine player) but just kinda voicing my thoughts on the matter. I'm hoping that the Grav Weapons will add some more flavor to the game(Not that it doesn't already! Just...too many flyers man -_-)

Sternguard and Vanguard units seem...well eh idk. They just seem like normal guys to me. Vanguard seem like supped up Assault Marines. And Sternguard seem...well...like a normal elite unit :/ Sargent pretty much.

The new tanks the Stalker/Hunter I gotta say I want one/both! I saw what I believe is the Hunter(The one with the REALLY BIG GUN ON THE BACK and well that was my reaction and I was making grabby hands! The Stalker(one with the two guns) I think will see the Helldrake and go "Oh hey there dragon! DIE DRAGON DIE!" pretty much! Which hey if that thing becomes the bane of Flyers I mite just look into getting some allies JUST for that big awesome thing!

Strikeforce=What's the diff/ it's still just the same dang thing as Battleforce! Just with a pretty name to make people go: "I WANTZ CANZ I HAZ?" But eh to each their own. I mean I never really looked at the Battleforce for Space Marines...but this is well...eh doesn't make me want all that much.

All the Limited Editions = GW doing their whole "ALL YOUR MONEY ARE BELONG TO US" Thing and just well...over pricing :/ I mean I can see how people who love certain armies within the codex mite want one to show love/props/support/"This is the army I field and I'm proud!" for well...what I just said. I mean that much for a book? Come on! You can but some models with that amount! Just seems kinda wasteful if you ask me...But hey as I said before...To Each their own...

New Tact Squad = ....Tact Squad...+Grav Weapons. Yeah...that's about it really...+ insert however much they bumped up the prices and ya...that's all there really needs to be said on the matter....

Black Templars now since I know all too well that many people love those guys(and for what it's worth I think they have a awesome fluff) and have been at arms at the fact they lost their own codex. Now if I look at this the way I do...Maybe this is better? I mean if you get the Limited Edition Successors variant of the Space Marine Codex then hey! since it has a Black Templars thing in there you can just as well imagine it being the Black Templars Codex! Just with some other guys inside it...but eh that's a tech thing. Aside from codexs...if I heard the rumors right then maybe BT are better off now since they have so many more options and won't cost as much as they did back in the day. Heck you guys have more options and numbers you can bring to the table! I mean yeah it sucks you guys lost your codex...But maybe this is a blessing in disguise?


Anyway that's all I'm willing to vent/rant/comment on my own on for now. Reason for this is to discuss it with all of you. So let the discussions begin!

Also £70, so about 75-80 $'s for a limited edition codex, Russ is sad at this, St Celestine is raging and the hive mind is eating it over.

Have you seen what they do in the 5th edition book? Special ammo and combi-weapons. Alpha striking in to mess some stuff up. They're one of the best units in the codex and it looks like they will be again.

The grav weapons are one of the most attractive part of the new codex. I can't tell about the new tanks Hunter/Stalker as I haven't yet read the rules.
Finally, I feel sorry about the BT players. Okay they get some more options but basically loose their uniqueness.

They also seem to have gained a fair number of combi weapon bits from the pictures of the sprue, and a missile launcher backpack similar to those that came in the devastator kit.

Will we be better off? Probably. Our 4th edition Codex is 8 years old and we got kicked in the nuts in 2 successive 6th edition FAQ rounds. Having access to Sternguard, TFCs and some other nice stuff while getting cheaper Marines will help immensely.

Will we be better off in close combat, where we belong? We don't know yet, but none of our Chapter Tactics make our non-Characters better at CC. Crusader adds on average 0.97" per turn to our run moves, so it's miniscule at best. I'm looking forward to having access to the now much improved Honour Guard, though.

I personally love the new Pa kits. 2 of each combi weapon in 5he Sternguard isn't even a bad thing considering the last run of kits. But the Vanguard are my dream come true! 4 pairs of LC, 4 THs, 4 Storm Shields, an awesone Relic Blade, Plasma Pistols, and the detail is amazing! Plus, all the PA core units are now interchangable. I can put those THs on GK, the Lightning Claws and storm shields on Sergeants and whatnot, Relic Blades for characters. Mix and match chestpieces for a full Mk8. Add the head from the Plastic Captain, the skull mask from the Chaplain, there is simply so much! Its glorious! I can even take the heads from the Centurions for Devs or such!

Actaully the new tacticals have differant [taller] legs and some Mk4 bits.
