Anyone played this?

Have tried out a dozen or so games with various gaming buddies -- huge fun, very flexible, quick, doesn't need a massive table. Looks like it may have become our go-to fantasy skirmish game.

There's a number of SBH fans here at Dakka, of which I am one. Check the blog in my sig to see many of our SBH adventures and the campaign we're currently running. Been playing it for 3 years and it's still the club's favorite. Everything you said about it is right-on. A dangerous game though. That it allows you to stat up any miniature means that you'll never have the excuse "I don't have a game for it" for not buying any fantasy miniature that catches your eye.

Thanks Eilif! Yeah, I've been re-using a load of my classic 1980s Grenadier dwarves, but have been tempted to buy more Hasslefree minis... and my son's just picked up a box of plastic Amazons to try out a new army, and is looking at minis of fungi and giants and stuff. We are spending!

That's the spirit!
SBH is great for mixing eras and lines of figures. Most of our games have 8 or more different manufacturers on the table at one time.

I started it a few months ago with some friends who previously had stayed out of miniature games because of the expense, and it is great fun, and really easy and cheap to make armies for.

I backed the Reaper Kickstarter to use the figures for D&D, but they have worked great for SBH too; I have 5 armies with lists from them, and plans for at least 3 other armies from the Reaper minis. It is defiantly my current favorite fantasy game, and likely will be for quite some time.
