Now i can get my hands on 3 of each for $300 now are they worth haveing at all i want to run 3ravens with tac squads in them and use the talons for aire cover allso going to have 3to 5droppod units to go with my air cav

Also like to point out ther is very few other players with any flyers and they only have one our two models. Reason no one use flyers in my are is ever one been taking adl line from day one

How about some army list?

Basic. army is talons with asulat guns and lc
ravens with ac and lz gun
4 tac squads plasma and ml in each sarges with combi melts. One in each raven other on on my adl
3stern squads in drop pods all ten man squad on all plasma combi other all melts last one idk yet.
maby some scouts and some bikers troops

The Stormraven is the 2nd most survivable flyer in the game, if I am not mistaken, with AV 12 all round and HP3. It is cheaper than a Land Raider and levels an ungodly level of firepower in Hover Mode l and almost as much flying. As a transport it'll be bashed by the community but I find it to work really well.

The Stormtalon works well with a Stormraven to Escort as it alleviates the biggest problem of Flyers which is reserve rolls. This allows you to take 2 flyers on at a time.

6 SM fliers is a great thing, but it's also around 1000 points alone. I don't know what point level you play, but you won't have too much on the table.

What chapter traits?

From what I remember about zilka he plays 1500-2000 pts. Supposedly his club is limited to 18+ with 1500+ pts.

For Stormraven:
IH to keep them more survivable.
SM with Vulkan to MC it's multi-melta (quite niche)
BT/UM/RG to drop good assault people

Stormtalon only benefits from IH rule, per itself.

Ive found my Stormraven to be very efficient at taking out whatever I point it at. I had a game where it killed two Heldrakes within a turn of each other, and still had enough left to kill a forgefiend.

I love em, and would get a Talon if I had funds

A storm talon's best asset is the turret. You fly past something after coming in after it, rotate the turret around and then pump the rear armor full of lead. As most vehicles have crap for rear armor this is quite devastating. I mean, the back of a Leman Russ is no tougher than the rear of a Rhino after all.

In any case, tau maul flyers and tau are on top at the moment so I would not call flyers 'king'.

Yes i sold my stuff because i mad at the gamers for not helping a new that's true but with a new codex and having to re buy stuff for new codex and getting a hell of a deal on six flyers i decided to rebuild my army and then show up with my flyer army and kick some ass

So you sold a bunch of models you could still use so you can buy new ones?

If you want to use fliers, do it, but if you have no reason to need AA, or already have AA covered, why take fliers then?

Everyone is going to have their own opinion on this and everyone's opinion is going to be influenced by their local meta.

Most units have a role that it excels at better than another, the Stormtalon excels at taking out infantry, their transports and other small, lightly armored vehicles.

In my games I'll use it specifically to target scoring units or infantry that pose an immediate threat. If used properly, with minimal supporting fire the Stormtalon can eliminate an entire infantry unit each turn. In fact, the Stormtalon is so good at doing this it's become a staple in my army lists.
