For this upcoming Christmas season I have a mini or two I'd like to paint for presents. If anyone can steer me towards either of the following - I'd appreciate it.

I need:

A) A Doctor Who - this is proving difficult because I don't really know anything about Dr. Who so I'm not the greatest potential judge on accuracy here. I know Heresy makes some - but they don't look that sharp to my eye. I know David Tennant is her favorite Doctor - so bonus points if the mini looks like that. A decent Tardis mini would be a nice compromise.

B) A Witch Elf - I have a friend who is bummed about the cancellation of WAR. She played several Witch Elves. I don't like the current GW ones though. Anyone have any alternates? The Raging Heroes ones are ok - but I can't find a source for a "single" and I don't really want to buy a whole box.

Again - any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Avatars of War has some Dark Elf characters that may suit your needs.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

There are two "Dr Hugh"s at Heresy Minis, both of them look-a-likes for Tennant. Maybe one of them will work for you? Otherwise, I think Reaper might have one in their Chronoscope line, but I doubt it would look any more like Tennant, or any better really.

EDIT: I posted this knowing that you said you didn't like the Heresy version for two reasons: 1. Have you seen both Heresy versions? 2. I haven't seen not-Tennant Who anywhere else.

Hmm - they just seem kinda blobby/rounded like older sculpts from the late 90s to me.

Do you think either Dr. Hugh would be instantly recognizable to a Dr. Who fan? I'm worried she won't know who he is at first.

I'm hoping some others might pop up. I could have sworn I saw others in the past. But don't remember who made them.

Appreciate the help so far though. Thanks!

I have this Dr Hugh from heresy miniatures, I thought he was quite a good representation of david tennant but my better half, who is a massive david tennant fan didn't think so.

Yeah - see - I don't think he's sharp enough to really look like anyone myself either. :/

What a difference a few weeks make.

First GW releases new plastic Witch Elves that are much better than their old ones - so I'll probably try to just buy a single one from a bits dealer.

Then today I see this:

Anyone more Who-knowledgeable tell me how good a representation they think he is? Do you think he's based on Tenant?

I think he could pass as Tennant, but I think he looks more like a generic Doctor Who somehow.
