I recently acquired a Chaos Predator, and decided to turn it into terrain. After doing a little research online, I figured it wouldn't be too difficult to make it look as though an explosion had happened. Here's the result:

Wow, that explosion effect looks great! Great use of (what looks like) heat to get that 'warped metal' effect. Are you going to paint it up with scorch marks and soot too? That looks like the only touch it needs.

I'm not sure how to go about doing that, other than drybrushing black. If I do any touchups though, it'll have to wait until after my current project.

Nice terrain, love the wrecked vehicle scheme on a battlefield. The explosion effect worked very well.

It's missing exposed metal. The edges need to have more bright, scraped-looking metal to make it look, well, more torn up. Aside from that, nice job.

Looks good. Just a suggestion, try taking a lighter to what you deem the impact point then paint it molten metal. It would add to the realism of an explosion IMO.
