Hi Guys. I am new to playing warhammer. I just started my blood angels army. But I can't seem to decide what heavy support to use for the tournaments that i want to enter. I already have a rhino, a vindicator and a land raider, so i don't really care about transport. I just want a lot of firepower. I am looking at baal predator, furioso dreadnought and stormraven gunship (though lots of people talk about the armour being 12 and it getting smoked early on, something which I really dont need). I am also looking at ground units such as the devastator. I already have death company, assault squad, terminator and sanguinary guards. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Baal Predator and Furioso aren't heavy support, right?
I've seen some successful lists with 2x Stormraven Gunships.

Personally I really love the Baal Predator and our Furioso, the last one especially with Fragcannons.

Fast Vindis have always seems like a nice idea to me. Move 12", shoot another 24". That's a 36" threat range. You can pretty much hit anything on turn 1 if you have line of sight.

Vindicators, Baals, and Devastators I'd say Devs are important because they can save your marines from LRs and mini-titans (Riptides and Wraithknights)

I don't think Baal predators are under heavy support, they're under fast attack.

The thing is, there is no "best" heavy support for an army. What is your army lacking? Anti-infantry? Anti-tank? Anti-flyer?

That being said, I don't think you're lacking in the anti-infantry department due to you having those assault units.

Its a toss up between Stormravens and VIndicators.

Sorry I haven't got back earlier. Over hear its rugby season and ive had non stop training! But I stopped at the gw store and ended up buying a baal pred and and a dev squad. But thanks for everyones replies.

The best heavy support for a Blood Angels army is "more fast attack options". :p

If you have 1 vindicator, get a second. I've found that 1 vindicator is nasty, but a fire magnet. 2 get noticed quickly, but generally make their points back.
