Good news for you - you've overcosted your tac squad by quite some margin. Unless they are an utterly awsome teenage mutant ninja tac squad... but the inquisition might have something to say about that...

The extra points would let you add an attack bike and 1 more model with 2 grav guns to your bike squad.

What chapter tactics

First your list is 33 points over 1500. Next I do not think this list has a lot of synergy. Only one pod comes in turn 1 so you have the honor guard sitting in the open for a turn not doing anything.

Then you have a footslogging group of sterns and 5 tacs that won't shoot anything until turn 2 maybe not till turn 3.

Also the legion have no specials so the ignore cover is going to bolters not the greatest imo.

You are also paying for two expensive HQs that again don't gel with the list. I think Tiggy is awesome but with drop podding honor guard he will be a sitting duck.

Finally the units that you have do not really make use of the ultra chapter tactics. 1 tac squad, 1 dev squad, and 1 bike squad. not a lot of added bonus from the tactics.

It looks a total mess sorry. But I don't see a central idea here at all. Just a random collection of units that presumably you like? You have you best combat unit drop podding in unsupported.

Your best combat character in a unit of 3 plain bikes. Just 2 more bodies and it becomes a troops choice.

Tigirius in a pod where he can do anything the turn he arrives.

A tac squad equipped for fire support with a CC upgrade on the sarge and a plan to combat squad for no apparent reason.

Sternguard with no transport and no combi-weapons.

Legion of the Damned with no plasma spam to take advantage of ignored cover.

A Devastator squad with just 3 heavy weapons.

No AA at all practically no AT too and literally nothing here seems to have had any thought behind it.

well I AM new, and I do have limited models
but its 2 tac squads, the lascannons sit back on objectives while the two five man squads with the plasma guns move forward,

I forgot the bikes need 5 guys to be a troop, will fix that
I do probably need to pod in the sternguard, but the combi weps are so espensive >.<

tiggy has ~80% chance to have the power that gives 4++ saves, (3 powers + re-rolls, woot woot) for the honor guard,

the lotd can have about 2 plasma weapons, I may give them a gun.

Dev was just a filler to sit back and try to pop vehicles.

I agree with FirePainter on this one, there is no overall theme to your army. Here's a little list which I think you might want to look at:

What is your army's goal?
Do your units enable you to achieve that goal?
In case your plan fails, what is your back-up plan?
Do your units complement each other for support purposes (synergy)?

And in general: How will you deal with the various threats of an opposing army?
- I would check out this usefull article for more details and ides. It's well worth a read! http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Take_All_Comers_Checklist

Well the new list is a bit better. You are still over by 25 points. Also I would like to note that I respect you for wanting to play the models you have I only make lists this way so that is good by me .

Okay onto critiques:
First I really do not think that the chapter master and the bikes are doing anything for you. I would drop them unless you really want the honor gurard but them I would drop the bike from the master.

Second you tac squads I do not think will do much in a game. They will be walking with mid-range guns and not get to shoot until at least turn two if not three. I would make them ten men and give them a heavy weapon (depends on what you have and opponents) I would recommend a plasma cannon or heavy bolter.

Third I like the legion squad you could give them a heavy as well but I do not think its essential.

Next the devs. Good 4 of the same weapon is always best if you can do it and lascannons are alright for what the do. If you alter things around I would try to add some bullet sponge bodies to the squad.

You still have only 1 drop pod coming in turn 1 so that leaves you with an unsupported assault unit that can't assault or a stern squad that may kill 1 tank.

Tiggy = Awesome

What other models do you have to work with?

I have the termies from the DA starter kit, and will be getting some predators within the month.

really? still over the 1500? must have messed up my calculations >.< the plan is to drop pod the sternguard in to pop a big tank, then if they live shoot stuff . hopefully next turn I can drop in my HG once things have died.

I would maybe suggest taking an ironclad or 2 to run with the honor guard squad but the terminators could fill for a dread, what chapter tactics are you using?

You just need something to drop down with the honor guard even a simple assault squad would work. Honestly id fill up the sterngaurd to 10, give the legion a heavy bolter.
Either a add more bodies to the dev squad or b drop 1 heavy weapon. Still recommend a AB with the bike squad the side car attachments are cheap and its an extra bolter or multi-melta, you could then add meltas to the bikes to replace what the stern were for in your original list.

Overall its not bad just a little bland, If you get your 4++ power with tiggy roll your next one on biomancy hoping for some extra toughness but pshysic shriek is still nasty.

Which he can't cast the turn he arrives meaning everyone is dead before he becomes relevant...

oddly enough I don't have any dreads lol, I have seen them whiff far to much.

I may drop a tac squad to fill up the sternguard to 10, and use the points to get more special/heavy weapons.

would it be better to drop my tac squad in or the lotd?
