I like all the offerings, but 32mm is a deal breaker. Can't use my 28mm stuff. Shame really. Best of luck.

32mm is probably smaller than a lot of "heroic" 28mm. I guess it just depends on how they look next to other ranges, but I don't imagine that they'd be that far out.
Plus for character models it won't hurt for them to be a bit taller

I really like a lot of these. Most of geedubs stuff is closer to 32mm in reality, so I really don't see a problem, unless its 32heroic and actually like 40 or some such.
Def keeping an eye here, if I don't empty my bank account on Total Extinction.

All models in this kickstarter will be hand cast in a fine detail Urethane resin.
I've had enough of this trash from McVey and Mantic. It's a lazy (cheapskate) way to produce figures. On the bright side, it means fewer kickstarters to suck money from my bank account. Herzlos wrote:32mm is probably smaller than a lot of "heroic" 28mm. I guess it just depends on how they look next to other ranges, but I don't imagine that they'd be that far out.
Thinner, not smaller. Malifaux is in this scale. Google some comparison pix and you'll see.

Urethane resin is 'real' resin (typically hand poured) as used by Mierce, Kingdom Death and a lot of the small conversion part makers

32mm kills it here also. So many great systems coming out, too bad they think they are so ground breakingly awesome that they need their own scale. If this was 28 or 30 mm I'd be all in, but even that little bit of difference is too much for me.

Couldn't you just explain away the size as a side effect of mutation or something, or will they be grossly out of proportion?
My concept of scale difference is practically nonexistent. Someone educate me what the issue is if they're a little bit bigger. Or will they end up being a lot bigger than other tabletop figures?
I like a bit of dimorphism with my figures.

The difference between 32mm and "heroic" 28mm is tiny, except that 32mm is better in every way. Example link, dreamforge Games stuff
If GW were in the business of making a 28mm game(Or if you were using them for a true 28mm system) you might run into a problem.
I might back this one. I'm hoping for more not-Borderlands minis.

That's why I have this picture.
The Eisenkern on the far left is 32mm. He looks about the same size as the others, but keep in mind, their bases aren't the same height as GW bases. If they were the same height, he'd be the same size as that Enforcer next to him who I believe also clocks in at about 32mm tall (even though he is actually in true 28mm scale, they're just tall). Next down the line you have Mantic figures which are "true"28mm. Then the unpainted guy is a 1/48 figure, followed by a pair of "heroic" 28mm. What's really going to make or break integeration of 32mm figures with other lines is going to be their bases. If they're sunken in like the DFG ones, they'll be fine. There'll be a noticeable height difference, but it won't be that bad. If they're on GW styled raised bases, they're going to tower over the other figures and just look out of place.

Chirico is so bad ass he doesn't bother bringing a gun to the battlefield huh?
That enforcer towers over that corporation guy.
I guess worst case these guys could be put on smaller bases to make less of a discrepancy.

Guys, there is absolutely no issue with the scale, these are the same height as GW figures. An upright DKoK engineer from FW is just shy of 32mm tall. The FW event-only Enforcer is just over 32mm. Cadian guardsmen, when upright, measure about 31.5mm tall. The new Space Marine models are bang-on 32mm tall.
GW say they use "28mm Heroic scale" because that doesn't actually mean anything and allows them to get away with variations in scale between metal, plastic, finecast, and forgeworld resin figures, as well as the pretty substantial scale-creep their range has undergone over the last decade or so. The only difference between "32mm" miniatures and "28mm Heroic" miniatures is that the former have better proportions. The ones you have to watch out for are 35mm(Dystopian Legions) or "true" 28mm, which are far too bit and far too small respectively.
EDIT: erm, OK having said that, I looked again at the KS page and it doesn't specify if they measure 32mm to the eyes or to the top of the head, so it might be an issue afterall. We'll need a backer to ask in the comments to know for sure.

I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal |

Looking at that vehicle layout, that looks like a lot of fun building & customizing.
My problem is I don't really have much in the way of sci fi or modern stuff.
Has there been any word on when they might be getting any preliminary figures printed/ molded?

Yes.. the printed models for the First vehicle are in, we will take some photos and as soon as we have enough "good" (by which I mean in focus!) ones, we will post them as an update so you can see how many parts go to make the vehicle packs..the first two vehicles and crew comprise 33 parts, most of them add ons you can choose between as the chassis is one part on both models.
Ill try to get them online by monday.. todays update will be a bit of background.. It is a really nice Update written by the formidible Mr Danes..
Hope that helps
