Has anyone ever made a mini with an explosion going off right by the model? I'm thinking of an IG commander a la Colonel Kilgore in Apocalypse Now (was that Duvall's character name?). You know: surveying the battlefield implacably whilst a mortar shell goes off in his immediate vicinity...?

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Miniwargaming have a few videos on the subject. The one linked to is more of a big fire, but you can tease out strands and use a wire support structure to give strength and allow you to glue debris etc on if you want to make an explosion.

I don't have any hints or tips... But I thought I would share this.

I've got 2 models with explosions on. On is a terminator counts as getting shot up:

And the other is a rough rider counts as going all dynamic into a trench and a small explosion going off under him.

For both I used clumpy foliage stuff superglued to a small pin to give mass to the explosion. It ends up setting rock solid.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
