Is there a 4++ item in the rulebook for less than 60 points? Because the Black Amulet's reflected wounds mechanic only works in challenges.

Also are there some upgrades you took that aren't listed? Notably on the riders and warlocks? As they look off to me (though I don't have my book here)

The cost of your *lvl 2* sorceress chould be 140 and your assassin should be 140 as well. (no additional hand weapon, you cant use one with a magic weapon)

Both lists are fairly good, though in both cases you need a BSB. Every single WHFB army should have one. Seeing as you're being fairly competitive, you may as well get a Witchbrew Hag with BSB on a Cauldron and put her in the Executioners and Corsairs respectively.

In the first list, I would drop the Bleakswords down a lot. They're not killy enough to warrant a horde of them, in my opinion, so drop them down to about 25, and use them as a sacrificial bunker for your Lvl4. Also, drop all the command on the Darkshards, except for the musicians. One unit can also have the Standard with the Banner of Eternal Flame. Also, although Assassins have got better, I still don't think they're that great and aren't the competitive choice. Feel free to use them, I certainly think they could work well (especially with that setup), just perhaps give them a few test games.

The second list also looks good, and I like the theme. Just perhaps re-shuffle your Cold One Knights around. CoKs work well as a small, relatively cheap flanking unit, or as a large bus. Yours are in between, and they don't work in between. I recommend dropping them down to 5, with only a musician. That would save you 105 points, which is no small amount. Or perhaps only drop them to six, which will still give you enough points for another RBT.

And finally, in both lists, what Lores are you planning on running on your Sorceresses?

How's this Dakka? Some Rare. It's either that or I drop the Kraken and take 5 more knights....I do ever so much love my calvary.

I'll give you some basic pointers from both a high elf and dark elf perspective.

Take a lvl4 as your general. You'll be happy you did. Lore to taste.

If you haven't already, experiment a bit with corsairs and witches, see which works better for you, and then pick from there. Try not to exceed 30 models in a single unit, in core or anywhere, as an elf. It's too expensive.

At least 2 units of dark riders are ace too, best fast cav in the game with a 4+ armor save and repeater crossbows.

Regular repeater crossbowmen wouldn't go amiss, but keep the units min sized if you do.

Don't stress if your core goes above 25% too much, even to 40%, dark elf core is very very good, always has been.

Try to include at least 2 bolt throwers, preferably 3 or 4, too good a deal not to.

Special is where the flavour of your list will be tasted. Which of the elite units do you like best? You can take cold one knights and put your bsb in there to really ruin someone's day.

The executioner horde with tullaris is amazing too. S6 killing blow with 2 attacks per model at I5 is godlike, and wounding on 2's almost all the time means your murderess prowess makes you reroll all failed wounds as they are 1's.

Blackguard can and will wade through almost any infantry in the game, with eternal hatred, ASF, I6, 2 attacks at S4, stubborn, they can also hold up units fairly well.

The Cauldron is something you will need to think about, because of it's limited use, where it does excel, and its points cost, which is fairly high.

It's tough, causes impact hits because it's a chariot, has a ward save, grants a ward save to witch elves and sisters of slaughter, can boost frenzy with a bound spell, but is situation dependent. Consider it with exec or witch horde.

Hydras aren't the beasts they were last book, but are still surprisingly resilient and killy against the right units, regular infantry being key. You can buy it a breath weapon or a multiple shots flame attack at short range, but its 7 attacks and thunderstomp is the true gravy, the regeneration of wounds icing on the gravy-cake.

Scroungerunner can be relatively good, but BS4 and 24" means mostly hitting things on 5's unless you setup more precisely. If you take a high beastmaster with BS7 however that's a different story, and can make for some interesting shooting list variations.

Bump. Poked through some of the lores. I'm considering life on my lvl 4. Maybe Lore of Dark on my level 2. Not sure it's a damn good lore. Although feels quite odd on a Dark Elf.

This good? I think Lokir is just a tad pricey. And....MSU seems to be spoken fondly of. I regret not waiting as now I have all these core models laying around.

I like the big unit of corsairs. I don't see 10 darkshards being useful for anything other than clearing chaff.

I get that the black ark guy is cool, but he's total gak. His special ability is crap, and for 205 points you could get 18 witch elves.

I'm not super impressed with bolt throwers. I've fought against them and...meh. They didn't do much. I'd rather have shades with greatweapons, or a cold one chariot.

Yeah, that is true I've played a game this weekend and that fething -1 penalty to hit for multiple shots.... Back up to 18? Maybe i'll drop something for some shades. Not enough special imo.

Drop the Black Ark Fleetmaster. He's just bad, and horribly overcosted. One of the few awful things in the book. I'd also be hesitant to put your BSB with the cold ones. A BSB doesn't really benefit a unit of Cold Ones anymore and it's probably better to keep him where most of your army can benefit from the re-rolls.

I'd also run Shadow on your Level 4 because corsairs and dark shards really benefit from. Beasts would be good on your level 2, for the bonus to cast Wyssans on your monsters, and corsairs like Wyssans too.

In regards to the fleetmaster, what would be a good way to take a Dreadlord and kit him out? And if I drop the BSB should I just take a cold one and my assassin?

120 points for 20 shots, hitting on 5's isn't bad. It's ~6.66 hits at long range. That's enough to gimp a fast cav unit running up your flank.
I'd keep them cheap. Unit of 10 with musician. That way you can swift reform, move 5" and fire.
Yeah, the shield is nice, but honestly, just hope to get lucky with the 10 S3 ASF attacks in combat. Don't give away more points.

Dreadlord: S7, defense-y kit.

Master: dawnstone, enchanted shield, sword of might, BSB.

Never leave home without a bsb. The Dreadlord is optional.
