Oath Keepers is instructing its 30,000 members nation-wide to form up special teams and sub-teams in each Oath Keepers chapter, at the town and county level, modeled loosely on the Special Forces “A Team” (Operational Detachment A ) model, and for a similar purpose: to be both a potential operational unit for community security and support during crisis, but also, as mission #1, to serve as training and leadership cadre, to assist in organizing neighborhood watches, organizing veterans halls to provide community civil defense, forming County Sheriff Posses, strengthening existing CERT, volunteer fire, search-and-rescue, reserve deputy systems, etc., and eventually to assist in forming and training town and county militias (established by official act of town and county elected representatives). We want our chapters to organize themselves as a working model that we can then take to other veterans organizations, such as the VFW, American Legion, Marine Corps League, etc. in each town and help them establish such teams within their already existing veterans halls. And likewise, to serve as a model and training cadre to help churches, neighborhood watches, and any other civic organization organize.

I just think of these guys:

El Commandte Gigante is here to save the day guys!

We still do posses out west at least. Usually it's just an old school term for the county sheriff's auxiliary or reserve deputies now. Or non-deputized volunteers.

Is this a reaction to news that the UN is marshalling its forces to invade America?

which from what I can recall could well come in handy on Black Friday.

so be prepared people !

Belgium isn't the hub of the world economy, and I'm pretty sure they kept paying their bills.

Yep, all part of the master plan to storm the U.N. and start lining blue bellies up against the wall if I'm reading this stuff right. Preemptive strike at their command and control doncha know?

I dunno. Doesn't wash to me. Isn't everyone pretty much aware that the UN without the US against the US is like a newborn fawn getting into the ring against Mike Tyson in his prime? And I mean all of 'em. All the United Nations.

I'd be more concerned about how many of them are actually operable. The Rocket Corps' budget ain't what it used to be.

Regardless, I was speaking in a conventional sense.

Ummm... let's do some nuke math:
Not sure if this is completely accurate since I didn't do the research myself and the guy who gave the presentation had to use unclassified sources.

Powers sorted by number of warheads:
1. Russia
2. United States of America (minus submarine nukes)
3. One US Ohio class submarine
4. United Kingdom
5. France

We have 18 Ohios at undisclosed locations around the world at any given time...try getting in a nuke contest with us.

Actually don't, because even without the subs we all have enough warheads to turn this planet into a lump of charcoal.

Where does Israel, India, Pakistan, and North Korea fit on this list.

Isreal doesn't officialy have Nukes, I forgot.

The other three must be below France right? Also, does the French and British number also exclude Submarine weapons?

You probably don't recall, so don't sweat it.

The entire point is that the Russians have enough warheads to turn the planet into a lump of charcoal and then burn it.

France doesn't have sub launched ICBMs last I knew, not sure if the Brits do or not.

North Korea's the bottom of the barrel

India and Pakistan are barely above that (I don't then they have any ICBMs either for that matter...) and as for the Israelis. *shrug* their nuclear arsenal is allegedly around 200 warheads of varying size, I'd guess all cruise missile or aircraft delivered payloads.

That's just off the top of my head.

I'm almost certain everything besides US was total active warheads. The guy who gave the presentation was basically trying to show how awesome US subs are, so I'm guessing that's the case. The Wikipedia page for such things (which actually exists) might help you. I glanced at it to make sure I was remembering countries in the right order. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_states_with_nuclear_weapons

I know that British people use boomers (sub nukes). The guy who gave the presentation used the British version of Modern Marvels to show off how the sub launched missiles work, since that tech is classified in the US (but not in the UK apparently).

The last thing I want to do is get into a "US vs the world" argument. As much as I support my country I really would prefer we all just work together. Besides, we have enough problems of our own we need to sort out before we start gearing up for anything.

But that's exactly what the whole, "the UN's comin' in boys, hurr" thing that a lot of militia groups subscribe to would be, which illustrates how ludicrous it is. That's a no-win scenario for the rest of the world. Conventionally, you're not getting across either the Atlantic or the Pacific, and unconventionally, even striking first, we've still got boomers freezing their nuts off under the ice caps to ensure the retaliation glasses everybody.

It's a dumb contingency to prepare for.

Also, your ski jump heresy avatar offends my pure CATOBAR eyes.

Heh, it's a land going aircraft carrier that launches sea-planes. I figure any idea of reality goes out the window at that point. Also I'm pretty sure that the full sized image is some kind of ungodly cat/ski-jump hybrid.

Yep, tracked down the full size image just to be sure. Kind of a weird design. Don't think the guy who drew it knew how an aircraft carrier works...
