WHFB is designed that certain units can be added as the points go up, so your good to go with any points.

40k Struggles because of the force organization chart and how it limits games at higher points.
Which is why apoc was made.

Warhammer Fantasies base rule-set itself is fine for battles over 4500 points. It requires no Apocalypse add-on since in comparison to most 40k game it is Apocalypse.

You can also work in Storm of Magic. While it is not the same as 40k Apoc, it has a lot of higher power level things that normally do not go in Fantasy games.

Storm of Magic is pretty much the fantasy version of Apocalypse IMO.
You get super powerful spells..my favorites are the ones that summon greater daemons with enough casualties and the one that moves a section of the board.
Anyway..you get powerful spells, big monsters out of your normal lists and higher points.

You just play a larger game. The rules scale quite well actually.

Only thing is that magic becomes much weaker as points go up. You can buy more wizards, but you still have the same amount of power dice.

This means that, beyond 3k, you won't be adding much in the way of wizards. Just more units and combat characters.


Storm of Magic is fun, but so is just playing a super large game.
