Hello everyone, i have a question regarding the horus heresy models made by forgeworld. I wondered if these models are legal to in matches and if they fall under space marine rules or CSM rules. I ask this because the Sons of Horus look absolutly awesome and i might make a 500 point squad just for the fun of it . And on that note i might aswel ask what the Sons of Horus colors are for painting . Thanks in advance for the info

The basic marines are the same so of course you can use them, they are still GW models. Some of the weapons that the heresy guys use like the volkite weapons, jetbikes etc don't have 40k rules and the bikes are also too big to use as regular bikes but most of the stuff is usable.
The parts are fully compatible with the plastics so go for it.

They're pretty obviously still Space Marines, so they're legal for Space Marines. The Deimos pattern vehicles are pretty obviously a Rhino/Predator/what have you, and so long as you aren't using superheavies you're good in a regular game. The range was designed to be interchangeable with the plastics, and people use them for their Marine armies all the time.

They're perfectly legal to use in games, but some clarification on what units represent what before the game starts might be beneficial to your opponent.

Thank you guys for the information. Perhaps with a little tinkering i could turn time into freshly turned chaos marines just after the heresy. Atleast that sounds like a good idea in my head but probably not a good idea on the models since my modeling skills are weak

The Primarch models would make outstanding Chapter Masters in regular 40K.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?

Beautiful models but they are too big, they're about the size of the new centurions.
