Hi guys, need some help here.

Everytime I try and upload an image from my iPhone to my gallery dakka dakka turns it sideways so I am unable to upload normal pictures and photos. Is there a reason for this? Am I missing something?

Nope, not just you. It's an iOS thing I believe. Same thing happens to me when I try to upload directly from iPad

Yup, from my understanding, if you take pictures with the phone held sideways, your iphone automatically displays them the right way up, but the image contains code that details the images original orientation. So gallery software which uses that code to determine image orientation will display them sideways.

The easy fix is, before uploading, open the image in an image editor, make sure it's the right way up, and then just save it. No need to change anything. When you save it, the orientation code is changed to the image's orientation when it is saved.

On a similar note, when uploading pics from my iPad/iPhone if I had more than one attached picture they all comes out the same.

If I added 4 pics, all of them would be the same as the first one I uploaded.

Anyone else get that prob?

BTW the advice regarding editing the pic and saving it works a treat to stop the sideways thing happening.

Yeah unfortunately there's not rotation tool in the gallery so we mods have no choice but to delete them.

From what I have seen, that seems to be because all of the images upload with the same name, so the forum software thinks they're all the same image.

Renaming them before upload with unique names might work, but that's just a guess.
