Greetings,

I don;t get to buy stuff as much as I use to. You know, the usual obligations of middle aged life get int he way. However, at Christams time I can usually write a list and get some new toys! Therefore, I've started thinking about what I am going to ask for.

Last year I gor Bolt Action rulebook and the X-wing Starter. So, what to ask for this year!

1. Robotech Tactics Starter set- If it is out in time
2. More Robotech Tactics Destroids- If it is out in time
3. Hail Ceasar Rulebook
4. X-wing Imperial Aces Boxset
5. X-wing Tie Bombers
6. Dystopian Wars Italian States or Ottoman Fleet Starter set

I don't expect I will get much, if any of this stuff; but it is a shopping list!

How about yours?

I'm not one to make Christmas lists (and certainly not ask people for things), but for the purpose of this thread I might ask my grrrl for some new Chessex dice. My current ones have failed me for the last time.

Imperial Aces, Legendary Spider-Man expansion, DC heroes (if it takes that long for the expansion), LOtR deck builder, X-Wing big ships (wont happen. Lol) a bed frame (I'm lazy) and full new ski equipment. Boots, skis, poles, etc. my family loves skiing, so I see that happening. I'd also like 72 hrs to do nothing except to finish my enforcer army 100%.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

For the last few years I've gotten hobby stuff. Big ones include - A Heirophant, about 3000pts of Vampire Counts, and a table and terrain. So far I've used none of it. The Heirophant is still under contruction, the Vampire Counts sit in a box unbuilt, and I haven't had a game on my table yet.

So this year I'm getting no hobby stuff at all, all it's going to do is pile up in my backlog. I'm going back to good old video games and getting a PSP Vita and a few games.

No miniatures for me this Christmas, I have enough Infinity ATM and I am done with collecting 40k. All Christmas money is going towards a college trip to Berlin.

I always get something for myself to work on before Christmas and then I get a lot for Christmas so I try to clear a space. Wait, yep I can hear my wife laughing in the distance. So I have the best wife, she buys me toys and still loves me. So, saving for 'nids when I have had so much fun lighting my projects, no I have to get some more vehicles to make an Iron Hands vehicle\flyer list.

Storm Talon (called a smart car at my FLGS)
Land Raider

all over the world

i'll be asking for a FW fortress - i suspect i'll be getting a GW manufactorum though :(

Seriously, i just want my girlfriend to get me the AvP game on release. I am struggling to play and paint with work and study commitments so something else that can go in the cupboard.

Sometimes i wish santa was real. Christmas is costing me £2000 this year on presents - luckily i'm paid well. Freaking XBox's and I-products are the bane of me

Hmmm let's see, Crimble goodies...

I've really been struggling getting games of WHFB and 40k this year, so I've started looking at smaller game systems - X-Wing, Dreadball, Infinity.

So on my list, I think I'll be asking for:

A big ship or two for X-wing.

Dreadball (if I haven't already bought it from the Mantic Open Day)

An infinity starter box/rule book.

But I'll probably buy this lot my self, and ask for some Blu-rays and sneeks off the Mrs!

EDIT - What badgermeister said - AVP!

I'm already way overloaded on stuff to paint, so I'll probably settle for some new brushes and a few days off to do some painting.

Not that I haven't been eyeing up lots of new stuff to buy too, like WestWinds Victorian Zombies.

My wife is a bit hopeless with crimbo presents usually, so I just order what I want, and give it to her to wrap. I submitted my crimbo order to wayland a couple of days ago:

Pentesilea
ALEPH Maruts (TAG)
2x Space Marine Land Speeder
Orcs and Goblins - Arachnarok Spider
Night Goblin Regiment
2x Eldar Windrider Jetbike Squadron
Eldar Farseer
Gao Tarsos (Combi Rifle)
Tohaa - Gao Rael (Spitfire)
Gao Rael (Sniper Rifle)
Chaos Black Spray Primer
Mephiston Red Spray Primer
Hobby Round: Snow
Spent Shell Casings: Standard
Skull White Spray
Sakiel Regiment (Spitfire)

Should keep me occupied in 2014!

As money is tight (as it always is), I won't be asking for much.

Maybe some reaper paints, that is about it.

What I really need though is clothes (for work and play)

Hmmm, for Christmas this year I am one of Santa's elves - and have to paint a bunch of things for other people to give to their loved ones. (How I am paying for my Kickstarter goodies....)

So...

Dear Santa,
I have been a good Grump this year, but me brushes are starting to show some wear from painting the presents for good li'l girls and boys.

Could you please put some brushes in my stocking, to make the prezies on me list?

The Auld Grump, PS I baked the cookies meself.

I paint in odd places, most often in the dining room at Burger King - I find that the bustle helps me focus.

Last year I was hired to paint a Stonehaven Troll for a little girl, after her mother told her that I was one of Santa's elves when she saw me painting in BK.

That mum was one of the best liars that it has ever been my sincere pleasure to meet - she even told her little girl not to watch me while I was painting, because Santa's elves don't like it when people spy on them. She was wonderful.

The kid got to see me painting one of the toys that she got for Christmas - a troll and a princess as a very small diorama.

Some of my co-workers gave me a hat with jingle bells on it, when they found out that I was painting miniatures as Christmas presents....

The Auld Grump - who looks nothing like an elf.

*EDIT* I read the title for this thread as 'Painting For Christmas'... that tells you where my brain was. Four dragons, six Christmas ornaments, and a partridge in a pear tree....nNeed to be finished in time for delivery by Christmas.
