Space Marine Scout with Sniper Rifle





With land speed storm becoming dedicated transports this edition I really want to build fast scoring list around them and I am starting with 500 point list first.

chapter tactics irong hands

HQ : Librarian w/ force sword (65 points)

Troops: 2X 5 man scout squad with CCW and sgt w/ metla bombs in landspeeder storm w/ heavy flamers (210 points)
1X 5 man scout squad with Sniper rifles (60 points)

Heavy support:: thunderfire cannon (100 points)
Whirlwind (65 points)

Total: 500 points


This list gives me 3 scoring units with the snipers holding back objectives while the LSS squads can grab others. The WW and thunderfire will siting n way back and soften up enemy troops for my LSS to come in and flame on

alternatively I could drop the WW and ad more sniper scouts? or another squad of sniper scouts? What do you guys think?

I would only take one barrage weapon, so I would drop the whirl wind or thunderfire cannon.

If you dropped either what would you suggest I do with the 65 or 100 points (respectively) and the librarian is just the cheapest HQ, he doesn't really synergies with the list currently but what powers would you take for him if I put him in the sniper scout squad?

You could plop him in an squad w/ prescience. Reroll misses are nice

Sadly as a codex SM librarian we do not get access to divination- choices are biomancy, pyromancy, telepathy, or telekinesis

What do you do if your opponent brings any vehicles?

Why a sword on the Libby? Maul is my preference on him as he's unlikely to survive long enough to use an axe and the maul is better against everything except MEQ and against MEQs with 4 attacks on the charge you should force a wound through anyway and the difference is largely negligible and an invun swings it back in favour of the Maul.

The LSS is an assault platform so the lack of Veteran upgrades and some sort of CC weapon on the Sergeants is frankly baffling. Power Maul or Fist are the best options the later dovetailing well with a combi-flamer. Watch them murder Ork boy units for fun.

I like the maul idea will definitely switch too that ( also concussive if i recall as an added perk)

So if I drop the WW i have 65 points to play with

so powerfist on both CC sgts 50 points
25 points a piece can you really justify giving scout sgts powerfist?

If i add power fist would i drop the melta bombs as well?
could add a rocket launcher to sniper squad but is that worth the points either?

how about this?
