I was browsing through my 2 codices and after playing a pure ravenwing for so long decided I wanted to try splashing a bit of the better bikes into my ravenwing. Thus creating this first list
Primary:

This is a solid base to be sure, still lacking that anti air that people pressure me on. I haven't had much trouble with helldrakes myself personally. A billion and a half twin linked shots to the drakes ass and it falls out of the sky even with bolters. Standard setup, join CM into my command squad to soak wounds for the banner not to get shot to crap. Start Sammael in a squad of scars to give them scout if I need to, if not just have him be ablative wounds in the command squad also. May instead run the allies as iron hands even, not sure on that one just yet.
Then the thought struck me. How does my Dark shroud affect allies. The Icon of old Caliban rule is DA only go figure, but The shroud of Angel's ability is any FRIENDLY model. This got me thinking that would give a scars unit a base 3+ cover save for moving 2+ for turbo boosting. So I made a scars based list with DA allies to see how that may do. Here is that list

What do you think on both lists Dakka. Help me figure out what I may want to do differently for this one. Also I know I should take TF cannons over the whirlwinds, but points were touchy on that one so it was either one cannon or 2 WW and I prefer the idea of scars fluff for everything has to keep moving.

If you are fielding bike and dark angels black knights are a must. More black knights in both lists.

I like Black knights, the second list can't take them because they are a fast attack slot which takes away the dark shroud. The first list I could take them, but would probably drop the banner of devastation then seeing how it doesn't benefit Black knights. Reason I didn't put them in list one is because mass bolters seem to keep the hordes at bay better than any WW or Thunderfire. Could run a Banner of fortitude and try that I guess to

You could take a Ravenwing command squad and a darkshroud in an allied detachment though.

If it were me I would put da first. 2 full rw attack squads with attack bikes and speeders. Sammael and black knights x2. And darkshroud. Then chapter master with 2 bike squads with attack bike and storm raven or talon. Then heavy put your whirlwind or just scratch it

Only downside I see to that is yes I have a ton of plasma and such, but what would that do against horde. Honestly with all the grav gun in the list I don't really need plasma / toughness lowering shots also. I need some type of mass wounds system where the command squads help me in making the stuff easier to wound with the rad grenades, it still needs more that 2 squads of 12 twin linked shots to eat a squad of gaunts / ork boys
