Are you willing to treat it as the 25mm base and not a 40mm base?
If so,I would have no problem with it (nor would most people in a friendly game).
for a tournament it would be up to the TO.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

For a fun game I'd say whatever, but it wouldn't fly in a tournament because it's not the proper base for the model.

Don't remake him, use him as an objective marker. He'll see play min 5/6 of the games you play then, regardless of army.
