Subject: Melee Options for Tankbustas-Worth It?

So, I've decided to run a unit of tankbustas. I know the're not the most competitive choice, but they have a lot of personality and look like fun. The question is, are their melee options worth it? All tankbustas come stock with tankbusta bombs, which are decently good at killing armour in assault. Tankhammers and power klaws are more efficient because you get more than 1 attack with them, but you also lose your shooting which, while not reliable by any means, is capable of doing some damage. In addition to this, the melee options effectively replace tankbusta bombs (since you can't use both). So is it worth it to give up both the rokkit launcha and the tankbusta bombs for slightly better melee?

I love tankhammers.
They really deal with AV13-14 far better than trying to shoot them or use klaws.
Also, keep in mind that being S10 means you can ID most things in CC ontop of hunting armour.

Thanks for the reply!
So tankhammers are the way to go. would you advise against klaws?

If your aim is to get into CC, yes the tankhammers are very nice for that. The fact that tankbustas can have nob with klaw is also nice as well.
Remember, one guy can release a squig, and one can throw a bomb, if you really want to fire a round of rokkitz.
The glory hogs rule has been faq'd to shooting the closest armor if you elect to shoot. Maybe review the faq.
Protecting them is perhaps the most difficult part about using them.

I am the kinda ork that takes his own washing machine apart, puts new bearings in it, then puts it back together, and it still works. |

I never use any Tankhammer, it's a waste of a Rokkit imo... Tankbusta are already quite bad at shooting, no need to make them worse.
In CC, a few Tankbusta bombs will already crack even the toughest Armor, and your Tankbustas should never be in CC with something that isn't a vehicle.

Nym has a good point. The hammers and claw might be redundant in cc with a vehicle.
Dare I say Lootas here? I mean the only thing a tankbusta can have on a loota is more ork boy statlines in range of a scrum, because lootas should not be moving. That and one exta power klaw.
