Easily destroyed compared to what? It's Imperial Guard. Aside from Russes, this is pretty much as resilient as it gets for
IG. The two units who are doing the majority of the heavy lifting, the Vendettas and Manticores, are relatively safe compared to most units. Manticores can hide behind BLOS terrain (if it's available), otherwise pick up 4++ from the Aegis and use range as their primary defense, and Vendettas are fliers meaning they will pretty much always get to shoot first. Heldrakes compete only with Stormravens for resilience.

I'd be tempted to let the veteran guard man the
ADL, drop their plasma and chimera, maybe give them a
HWT.
Or you could put the veterans in a vendetta and let a basic guard squad man the quad gun. It's twin-linked, so you don't really need
BS 4. Are you even sure that you need the
ADL?
It's necessary for anti-air and providing cover in case I'm playing on a sparse table. This list is for tournament play so I can't always count on having decent terrain.

Chaos marines are better suited to taking objectives than guardsmen, so it's wasteful to leave them hanging at the back manning the quad gun. I'd rather have a larger squad of them though.
This is probably true. Unfortunately, they can't ride in Vendettas.
CSM unfortunately have very poor mobility.

Put your melta guns on squads which are going to ride in the vendettas. Actually being where they are needed is better than +1
BS. If you have a few points spare, you can give the
CCS a Plasma Gun or two or maybe a
HWT.
Might be worth swapping out some gear for 2 Plasma Guns and a Lascannon on the
CCS rather than Melta Guns. I do like having 4 Melta Guns in case I run into a Land Raider, and putting them in a Vendetta IS always an option. The Las-
Plas loadout is good unfortunately that leaves me with very little to deal with AV14.

Using your warlord to soak up hits on a small squad seems foolish. Better to take the points from his
SoC and buy more marines for the squad, I think.
Primary detachment is Imperial Guard so the Chaos Lord isn't the Warlord. He's there because I need an
HQ. IF a Warpsmith could repair
IG vehicles I'd use him instead. If you have a compelling argument for any other Chaos
HQ choice I'd love to see it. A Daemon Prince is something I'd actually entertain in this army.

Two Manticores might be one too many. How sure are you that there will be somewhere to hide them both? Don't you already have enough high-strength firepower with the Vendettas? What are you going to do when someone brings a unit in behind them?
