Since the new awesome rules, what is better if you want to include him, buy hthe model which is finecast and old but still looks cool even if it looks tiny compared to other daemons? Or make him using plastic daemon prince kit?

Same exactly here. Though is it legal or tournament legal?

Most tournaments allow conversions, many don't allow proxies. So as long as you sculpting thing or do something a bit more creative with the prince kit then
I don't reckon many people would have a problem with it.

I also like the model, but I'm thinking of giving him a head swap. I think the Defiler helmet-style head would work fine but from what I've heard the Be'lakor model is rather small in scale compared to other Daemon Princes. Does someone have a photo of the mentioned head-piece, would it be suitable for such a conversion?

The model is way smaller than the plastic kit. Also the defiler head looks a bit big in the plastic head. I imagine that it will make difference in be'lakor smaller head. We'll i m desperate in deciding what to do... Either buy the finecast model or convert him from plastic. I don't care about the money cause money wise it's the same cost. Bah...

He is swamped by a 60mm base.

I've built mine up using insulation foam as a layer of rock to give him more height, but the volume isn't there compared to the plastic kit.

That said, it is a cool sculpt, and while I was reluctant to order it sight unseen (went into local GW to place the order, just so I had the manager as a witness if I received the resin equivalent of Swiss cheese and needed an exchange) the copy I got was essentially perfect, so it doesn't appear to be a problematic model for FC.

Do you think that I will have a problem if I kit bash him using the plastic? I will convert thr head so it looks close to the original model, o think it can be done. Is it legal to play it as him? In terms of tourney play etc? I don't want to have a problem with it.

You will not have any problems. Do it. No one would care.

I cannot imagine the first daemon prince ever, the one that stood alone and defied the chaos gods, the one who has received a bit of power from all 4 to be smaller than the rest of my circus army... even FW whos body has been hurted in the warp and his physical power is reduced to be bigger than be'ls old model.. Shame.
