I am a chaos player, and feel that all the "Loyalist" tanks should be left for loyalist armies, but I've always been afraid of Large blast templates, and would like to theme an army around that.

Now, if I WERE to convert back to the Emperors light, which flavors of vindicators work the best?

Dark Angels?
Blood Angels?
Space Wolves?
or Iron Hands?

Of course, a possessed Vindicator from chaos could be an option too.
So which Variant is the best use?

Iron hands because of their Chapter Tactics.

2 Chaos Vindicators with deamonic posession are quite fearsome.

I really like Blood Angel Vindicators because of Fast. It really makes a big difference in their ability to hide, threaten large areas of the board and surprise opponents used to the 6" move instead.

Also in my experience my Vindicators get toasted by explodes more often than not, meaning Iron Hands would not be frequently useful compared to Fast.

I'd second BA. Being able to move 12" and still fire your S10 pie plate translates into some serious board coverage.

BA because they are fast. It makes the tank so much better with the extra range.

I agree with BA, fast vindicators are scary and far more useful due to their increased mobility

BA Vindicators. Fast is just too awesome of a bonus for these type of tanks. It greatly increases the threat range of the tank.

So it can move 12" and fire the Big Gun?

Well, so can BA Vindis but if we do so, we can also fire our STORM BOLTER! So it's technically better ah-HAA!
Okay, that makes no difference but BA Vindi could also move up to 24" a turn if needed.

You might be able to match the legion Vindicator on firepower, but can you buy melta immunity?
Can your Predators buy Skyfire for their 4 shot Autocannons?!
See, if you want to play the which-space-marine-list-has-the-better stuff game, the legion list is going to win every time with dedicated transport Storm Eagles and heresy-era relic weapons. Of course, you also pay more for the stuff, which makes you very weak in low-points games - but then the Blood Angels also have an issue with that sort of thing, if I'm not mistaken. The biggest disadvantage for the legion list is that the basic tactical squad costs 150 points and can't take special/heavy weapons - you have nicer troops choices, but you can't use them to fulfill the base requirments. That said, once you do have those two compulsory slots filled, being able to take 9 flamers for 175 points is pretty cool - you don't want to be assaulting into that, that's for sure. Those flamers can also be upgraded to Plasma, Melta or Rotor cannons (lasgun strength, ignores Ork armour, assault 3, hotshot lasgun range) with the former two options being rather expensive. Given how easy it is to get melta immune on pretty much any vehicle with the legion list, I'm not sure it's really ever worth taking a bunch of Meltaguns, especially at the price you pay - though I imagine not everyone will want to pay the points for the upgrade.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

Well, the title seems to be "Who does the Vindicator best?", not "Who has best vehicles?".

The community is a great place to come for tactics advice, and there is a lot of very sound opinions and idea out there, but at the end of the day, play the game how you want to... Don't worry about the hordes of Dakka descending on your gaming club to arrest you for taking one heldrake or not using a screamerstar. Knowing the standard opinion (and that's all it is) on what is good/bad and conforming to that opinion religiously are two entirely separate things.

Why? Should CSM equipment be exclusively daemon engines and Chaos artefacts? They wear power armour, shoot bolters/meltaguns/plasma guns/missile launchers/etc, ride in Rhinos and Land Raiders, and blow stuff up with Predators, Vindicators, and the like. For pure thematic reasons, I would prefer if the CSM book had access to the Land Raider Crusader, Land Raider Redeemer, Whirlwind, and Stormraven/Storm Talon, but it wouldn't be fair for Chaos to get all the Loyalist toys with their daemon engines and daemons. At least the option to better customise the Land Raider would be nice.

To be fair, certain land raider variants such as the are and Achilles were created for specific campaigns, hence only the loyalist should have them

The Achilles was created during the great crusade, so the traitor legions should have access to them. I agree with your point for patterns like the redeemer, though.
