Just watched attack on titan English 1-13. Overall I loved the english version over Japanese sub. Voices were matched pretty well. Only complaint was the Titans Screams, they sound so much better in the original version.

How much of other Gundam series does one want to know about to watch Unicorn? Really I've only seen 8th MS, Wing, 00.

And yes, No Game No Life is continuing to be pretty damn sweet.

Anyone finished watching Gundam Unicorn? The ending was satisfying and the OVA was epic overall. Definitely a must watch for mecha and Gundam fans.

YES! I posted about it a couple of days ago lol I really enjoyed it. I still think my favorite episode was the one with the Zeon remnants on earth, but the last episode was a close second. I really liked the new mech designs and equipment they came up with.

Spoiler:
If only they could have found a way to have the Londo Belle fight at some point

I really wasn't expecting the last episode to be so Newtype ish though. It was amazing, but the amount of stuff going on was amazing. I'm really happy with how it turned out but I'm surprised it didn't feel convoluted.

I think at least the original MSG (or the movies) and Char's Counterattack are necessary viewing for Unicorn. If you don't watch those two a lot of what is talked about will make no sense to you. Nor will you care about Full Frontal or any other reference made to characters from the original Gundam series. Some of the cast comes back so it's definitely a watch for someone who at least knows the events of that show and Char's Counterattack.

Ya I would have to agree that the original series and Char's counter attack are the most important ones to watch. I would recommend watching all the UC era stuff, but that's a lot to watch lol

Also I found the newtype stuff in the last episode to be very interesting, neat to think about

Spoiler:
Like what a ridiculous clause to include in your constitution/treaty thing. If new type of human race is to evolve, be sure to include them in running the government. Or perhaps they were right on the mark with that? If a new super-human species were to spring up in the near future do you think it would be best to include them in some leadership role?

I didn't mind it because it involved actual character growth/exposition that related directly to that behavior.

I'm pleased with Brynhildr in the Darkness as the anime is almost exactly like the manga (which I devoured the translated part in an afternoon, got to chapter 80 I think). I agree with Aduro because it does develop her character and it stuck close to the manga. Looking forward to the next character immensely and that's all I'll say because I end up spoiling things...

News regarding the US Kill la Kill release has me... concerned. I miss Bandai...

Anyway, I've been streaming through The Clone Wars on Netflix, so I've been watching less anime recently, though I've been keeping up with Love Live and Saki (I still don't get Mahjong, but I still like the show for some reason.)

On the bright side, Kill la Kill is on Netflix! Huzzah!

Me and my roommates watched that series recently. The computer graphics 3-dish looking one right? I thoroughly enjoyed a lot of the story lines

Kill la Kill is comparable to FLCL? I watched a couple of episodes but it's kind of spazzy and even though it self-mocks the skimpy uniform it's still fairly annoying. I'm not feeling the draw a lot of you guys seem to have.

Despite first impressions, it's actually a pretty intelligent show that uses quite a bit of foreshadowing.

My favorite from the list is the "Need more sad anime with robots in it?" catogory.

It is of course not an all encompassing list being one persons own opinions/recommendations, but I generally like her opinions so I thought I'd share it.

It requires at least a second watch to understand it a lot more. Not a full on expert on it, but what is your main question.

Speaking of hard to understand anime...

I don't get the Eye-Opening chapter / Meakan-shin (or however you spell it) in Higurashi. Is it meant to be a new world?

There are some inconsistencies with it's "Question Arc."

Still very much enjoying it though.

The Cotton Drifting / Eye-Opening chapters are probably the most disturbing chapters in the series. Full out crazy bs there.

Anyway, just started season 2.
The animation quality is considerably better.
Pity there is no dubbed version though; I actually liked the English dub of Higurashi.

I think another Sad Anime with Robots would be Bubblegum Crisis (at least from what I've seen of it). Maybe Ghost in the Shell as well.

Oh ya I enjoyed the dub voices a lot more. I loved Rena's voice in the dub, it complimented her character

Yeah, and the dub really knows how to get the crazy voice down.
Especially Rena; hearing her talk about Oyashiro always gives me chills.

Gets better? I'll hang in there for a bit then, not spoiled for choice anyway.

Idunno if BGC is particularly 'sad', but I guess I wouldn't call it happy either. It was a neat list overall, didn't find much to watch from it, but neat to know the styles of some shows I've skipped.

Cat ears!

Always advocated Pinoyanime.tv for my site of choice for watching anime but their ads have gotten too troublesome lately with opening the App Store and redirecting the page you're on, sometimes halfway thru the show out of nowhere. New site I'm using is Animeplus.tv which I'm finding much better for watching. Trouble is they use the Japanese show titles rather than the English ones so I've been having to learn all those. It's kind of annoying.
