Why in the world would there be a short e sound in that word? EE is always a long sound.

If there's an example of a word that has "ee" and isn't prounced with the long E, it's the extreme exception.

I have seen all the evil that the galaxy harbours, and I have slain all whose presence defiles the Emperor. I have seen what you will see. I have fought what you must fight, and I have slain what you must slay... so fear not and be proud, for we are the sons of Sanguinius, the protectors of Mankind. Aye, we are indeed the Angels of Death."

To be fair, this is the same company who said that "Lasgun" is pronounced "Laysgun" even though there's no reason to phonetically speaking. And the word "Height" is pronounced different from eight, neighbor and Sleigh despite being spelled the same so there is precedence for unusual pronunciation.

I misclicked because I'm tired. I say it the first way, but clicked the second one. My bad.

I pronounce the first part with a hard 'z' sound. (Like the Tz in Tzimisce. Too many years playing V:tM ) I pronounce the middle to rhyme with 'green.'

On a similar note what about tyranids?
Pretty sure most people pronounce it "ti-ra-nids"
However seeing as the word is direved from the planet "Tyran", I pronounce it "tie-ra-nids"
Off topic but anyway

If you've played Dark Crusade, you may have noticed that when assaulting the chaos stronghold, the narrator pronounces it like "bench" in the snippet of lore before the fight. That's the main place I've heard it as such, and wondered if it was said that way in other places. I agree with your logic, personally.

Rolls of the tongue easier I presume. Maybe because of the way English tends to not stress he first syllable in words?

I try to mix "zeentch" with the sound of the word "change".

It is important to note that, as a general rule, people from the UK don't know how to properly speak English.

The reason why media companies use West Coast USA talent for voiceovers since California is pretty much one of the only places where the majority of natives speak unaccented English, lol.

Only kinda.

Technically the modern language is American English (really just American) as more than 90% of the new additions to the lexicon are American in origin, and their correct pronunciations are American. That, and the majority of new words in other languages are American, lol.

The Brits had a good run though. They'll always have Shakespeare.

Actually both. Sometimes I pronounce it like a bench and the other time like tea. Though I must say, sipping tea on the bench as a plan unfolds seems quite exhilarating.

No one should be complaining about this codex. It gave regular Eldar a much needed buff by allowing us to drop Fire Dragons and D-Scythe Wraithguard wherever we want, without scatter.
