I see many people hate this character because he's just a glory hound, or a downright d-bag. I think such a character is a great addition to the Ultras. Besides, he's no Calgar with Avatar punching powers.

And let's be honest. If you had his skills you would most likely behave just like him.

Nope, he's a dick alright. His company suffers for his arrogance quite a few times in Fall of Damnos, not to mention his terrible treatment of one of his best tactical squads simply because the sergeant doesn't worship him like the others.

He is perfect, honestly.

He embodies all that is wrong with the Ultramarines and all that is right with them.

Which in the end, makes him a terrible Marine...which makes me happy.

He is a complete ass, but he is also an excellent character. So I like him.

I think he is horrible. His only redeeming quality is that he is not as horrible as Marneus Calgar.

Yes, I like him. Sure, he's got flaws, but he's the golden boy of the golden chapter, his pride has some basis.

He might be a dick, but he's OUR dick. I'm not his biggest fan, I play 3rd and 1st companies, but I can see why he's good.
He's no Uriel Ventris though, so that's a bonus. But on the other hand, he's no Invictus, Fabian or Agemman. If I had to give a yes or no, I'd say yes, begrudgingly.

Never read anything containing him as a character where I liked him. Total dick.

Or maybe it's because of what I just described him as? Hmm...seems like we got some latent homoerotic feels in the crowd.

I think he sucks as a character, is unorigional for the Ultras, and makes an already d-bag chapter look even worse. I haven't read much of his BL exploits, but its not looking so good there either.

I'm in the middle with Sicarius.
I've never read Fall of Damnos so I don't know much about him being a jerk.
On the other hand, I always found him kind of... boring.

It also pisses me off that he thinks he's going to get the title of Lord Macragge. It means he secretly yearns for Calgar's fall, which must never come to pass.

Sicarius is typical of all Ultramarine characters sans maybe Calgar.

I don't mind Ultramarines as a chapter. Their special characters are all smarmy, perfect asses though.

A space marine captain who waits so he would be the next Lord Macragge but is too impatient to wait for Calgar to die? Maybe scheming to take the position?

I tended to ignore the named characters in my codices and went for the generic HQs and so on.

I think Scipio Vorolanus (or whatever his name was) should lead the 2nd company when sicarius is gone. He's a brilliant tactician, and amazing fighter and he's got cool infiltration and stealth methods. He would teach the company to fight precise and efficiently.

As for sicarius........I think all he does is swing his sword and yell CHARGE,CHARGE,CHARGE!!!!

Cato is perfect for the role needed. He's like all the regular, by the book, commissars in the Gaunt novels. Without him people like Praxor and Scipio would seem empty.

No, he is quite the inhuman little butt, taking the worst traits from Uriel, Tellion, and Agemman.

I don't like the Ultras. At one time I almost liked them, because of Captain Titus from the Space Marine game. Unfortunately, he wasn't canon and he was the exception rather than the rule. Reality for the Ultras are characters like Cato...so nope for me.

*me when I started SM* hey I gave Ultramarines too much crap when I played Orks maybe they improved writing wise in the 6th ed codex. *reads Cato's entry* ... never mind.

He's a terrible, arrogant jerk...which is why I find him interesting and like him as a character, but not someone I'd have a cup of tea with.

Don't know if anyone else read the Advent books about Sicarius today, but I've gained a whole new level of respect for him. He's made out to be a warrior > Captain more than ever in his WotDM and his short story shows just how fethed up he is after Damnos. There's also a nice little line about Agemman in there too.
