For those of you who have never used it, I'd urge you to pick some up. It's a revelation!

I recently invested in some series seven brushes, and thought I'd pick up some Masters to look after them. The brushes are great, but the masters stuff is awesome. I tried it on my old Army Painter Brushes, which I'd thought were clean already - the amount of crud that this stuff removed has made em like new again!

Consider me a convert.

I stand behind this stuff 100% as well. I use Citadel brushes (say what you will) and it keeps them in a continual state of like-new.

I've used this stuff for years and it is incredible.

Just be sure to rinse thoroughly and change water after using... I've found that it can cause weird effects especially with washes.

But yes this stuff will significantly increase brush lifespan. Well worth the effort to find it!

I'll add my voice to the crowd. This stuff is magical.

Plus, it's a decent price and lasts a surprisingly long time. It's just weird getting used to it at first because it's solid soap.

It's brilliant stuff! I'm on my second tub of the stuff and will need to make another Blick order to stockpile a few tubs for the future (and pick up some W&N S7s - my 000 went missing when I moved )

Word and exalted.
This stuff is like Phoenix Down for brushes. (Plus the name is "Master's" and the guy on the label looks like Torgo, which is just neat.)

I notice my posts seem to bring threads to a screeching halt. Considering the content of most threads on dakka, you're welcome.

I totally agree. that stuff is pure magic, and it smells like lemons to boot! I use it on all of my brushes, even the ones that otherwise would have been "beyond saving" and they are mostly back to good as new status.

Hah - I've used it for a year or two now and never noticed the lemon smell before. That'll teach me to not go around sniffing chemicals.

Try Art supply stores - I doubt many (any?) FLGS will have it.

It does take patience though to work the stuff out of the brush. Minus that, it is great stuff and really does what it says.

Mine too. In fact I suspect I bought it from you guys Great product. Only thing is every time I use it so much gunk comes out I think I should be using a bit more often

That's the first place I looked when I read the title of this thread and the next few posts, but then:

Maybe I'll just get some from Antenociti when I order a Mat-O-War early next year?

I'm glad someone else finally said it. I've been recommending Master's for some time now, as have plenty of others, but it seemed like I was the only one who ever mentioned the pleasant smell. Granted, enough Dakkanauts sing its praises that I may have just been stretching to find that one positive point that had yet to be mentioned.

I use it regularly on all of my brushes, but I wish I had taken before and after shots of it working its magic on a worst case scenario - i.e. my wife's brushes. It took some time and effort, but I managed to get a 1/2" flat that had been completely encased in fabric paint (which had bonded, on one side, to the newspaper it was left to dry on) back in working order.
