There's a new legion drop pod up for preorder from Forgeworld:

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/LEGION_KHARYBDIS_ASSAULT_CLAW.html

Anyone know the rules for this thing?

The rules have not been published yet.

but it looks epic.

it can fly, we can see that from the images and it can 'land'.

thats as much as we know in terms of what it can do.

the description suggests it will be able to land and take off again (much like hover mode I would imadgine munis moving)

it has multiple typhoon missile systems, although I'd bet it can only fire one or two of those at most, and a melta ray of doom (by description) which will be interesting to read the rules for.

I'm looking forward to it

I know it's FW but that thing is way too expensive unless it has points value and rules to match (sort of like a flying drop pod Spartan). Because otherwise, I can't see many CSM players getting more than one, if any.

Hopefully when they re-do the M41 claw it will be much cheaper and smaller.

Hail the Emperor.

So they just redid the dreadclaw and made it 40 quid more expensive.

Preferred the dreadclaw tbh. Waaay too expensive.

No. The Dreadclaw was a much smaller model. This thing is easily superheavy size.

Yeah it's huge.

The dreadclaw was pretty big as well, but this one is almost too big. I'd hate to try and find a box for it.

Is there any guarentee it's going to be available for 40k?

it has the magna melta weaponry but as to the size of the template (that was mentioned by the model designer at the HH weekender in May) - i'm thinking apoc markers will start drifting in for use now.

I'm guessing it'll cost 300 points - lets see how close to the mark i get though

if a dolphin will jump out of water for fish, just imagine what it would do for chips?

Nope. It is scheduled to be in the third book.

There's talk there will also be a new dreadclaw model coming out this summer, so let's not get this confused for something else. It's a huge drop pod - maybe something that can carry multiple units? Maybe even drop pods?

I dunno, 300 bones for a glorified drop pod doesn't sit right with me.

Looks very nice, but as it is from GW/FW I will not be getting it. Might have a go at making my own though

It's a flyer that is an assault vehicle if it works like the Dreadclaw, which from the sound of things it does.

Well yeah, but it's still just a very fancy drop pod.

To quote the product page for it.

"Employed by many Legions as their primary ship-to-ship assault craft, the Kharybdis is a monstrous drop pod capable of carrying large assault forces through the void and mounting significant firepower to blast a path through defending small craft."

i am at a loss when looking at these vehicles when they fill a LoW slot and take up a dent of the 25% allocated for stuff like this.

Seeing what damage ferrus manus does at his point level and equally mortarian - i hope this doesnt come as a LoW but as a heavy support choice instead or has the 'primarch taxi' rule.

This would make an awesome entrance for Vulkan
