Be a rogue trader with a massive fleet, and my trade would be the goodstuff  something between a pimp and a drug runner.
Or a rogue trader that goes in search of life in other galaxies
OR
Be a space marine!!! actually techmarine, with a full servo harness, of the Salamanders. And when I die I become a tech-nought... kekeke I fix myself.
OR
a chaos spacemarine, either a khorne beserker, emperors children, or wordbearer.... Actually, nightlords, but not the ones tainted by chaos, no the other ones, the ones that are evil just for the sake of being evil.

I would like to be a Necron Lord- I get to wipe out worlds with my army.. And nothing on my conscience! Also if some space marine hacks of my arm, it'll reattach itself and I'll flay his eyeballs off!

I'm surprise few people have chosen tau or eldar or C'tan/necrons... although I did hear a couple eldar choices a while ago, very few necrons and tau...

As much as I love my spacemarines... That's pretty awesome...
ALTHOUGH! They don't melt people... don't they use their gauss weapons that vaporize layer by layer...?

Your logic some how seems to make sense... PLUS! guardsmen are required to maintain their weaponary or risk losing their lives... So i guess you'd be relatively safe!
