The morale test can be rerolled by a nearby standard, though. It's more of a Ld7 orders check vs. a Ld 9 or 10 morale check.

And it's still a loss down to 33% for all those times you don't pass BiD (or have an appropriate target for it, such as with mortars or heavy bolters, most like).

Your one-stop website for batreps, articles, and assorted goodies about the men of Folera: Foleran First Imperial Archives. Read Dakka's favorite narrative battle report series The Hand of the King. Also, check out my commission work, and my terrain.

Abstract Principles of 40k: Why game imbalance and list tailoring is good, and why tournaments are an absurd farce.

Read "The Geomides Affair", now on sale! No bolter porn. Not another inquisitor story. A book written by a dakkanought for dakkanoughts!

Just a thought, but I'm curious: are you forced to use units you normally wouldn't so you'll have something out there turn 1?

Yes. I have taken to having two squads of forward observers for their beacons two camp objectives and guide in deep strikers . I also forgot mention, inquisitor Solomon Lok from IA4 is now an Elysian HQ choice. Why do I bring him up? For 15pts less than CCS with bodyguards and a beacon you get a man squad with 4 MEq power fist attacks and 6" radius of guaranteed deep strike.

Not to derail this thread but my current proposed list starts the game with the two forward observer squads screened by the turrets and max unit of melta storm troopers infiltrating in to take out a vehicle or msu squad.

I know Elysians are IA8, and you mention IA4, but where is the rule stating you can use them in regular 40k games?

Opponents permission usually.
