it's militia though, allbeit there is a possibility to make them do harm somewhat effectively, it's called stubber spam.

Ah very true although I have made a few with chainswords and laspistols just so I can use them as guard infantry, and very true I've found mutant spam with slaanesh and ogryns works well

And here they are, 70 fully finished renegade militiamen, I cannot wait for them to be painted up and tabletop ready.

Hello everyone I apologise for the lack of updates, I haven't done much else with my renegades yet but I have got plans for a game soon however it'll be with my word bearers army to try them out but I do intend to see if I can get a game with the renegades and test out the legends army list at the same time

Good luck in the game mate! Hard done by with the new Legends rules. It is a beautiful grey sea of heretics - will be awesome to see them painted up (eventually!).

Thank you tzurk it is just a little although I'll admit a few of the legends things I really like although I do intend to of course add some that I feel they are missing and sorely need, i hopefully should have more militia painted soon as well

Okay so yesterday I played a 103 power game against my best friend and avid blood angel player I will later on post the photos (i apologise I'm not the best photographer and I tried to do it turn by turn but we both got so into the game we forgot sometimes ) we will both be having a rematch roughly about 2 weeks from now of 125 power, it has been fantastic getting back into the game and we both enjoyed a hard fought game.

Hello everyone and happy new year , due to everything currently going on I've not really done much with my renegades, this was mainly down to just lack of motivation in doing anything hobby related, which I am glad to say has now changed, with that I am aiming to start posting again in a few days and I intend to keep to a semi regular posting schedule so I can get through the hordes of traitors, cultists and mutants in my to do pile, although I intend to add a few more interesting troops to that pile (with the help of my fellow hobbyist friends) but I've already said too much.

Great battle pics mate, would love to read a more detailed report of the next one!

There's always something cathartic about finally getting to play with the models you've built and (if you're lucky!) painted.

Thank you! I aim to do the new one a bit more in-depth with some "plot" behind the battle just a bit of lore and then a turn by turn report with photos
I completely agree with you there I'm itching to get back into the swing of painting so I can have a fully painted list

Hello everyone! So I may of let slip in one of my last posts about about some "interesting troops" well I do intend to make some mutants, which i will be using poxwalkers as a base amongst other bodies and bits, I've not really tried to make so many proper mutants before so it should prove an interesting challenge.

I also intend to add some interesting hqs to the army but those will remain shrouded in secrecy for now as they are nowhere near completion but I will say this,

"We have been given our crusade, my sons... the Sabbat Worlds!"- Warmaster Slaydo.

Hello everyone, sorry for a delayed update I'm still currently waiting on my mutants to arrive so I haven't done much with the militia other than get them ready to paint up, sadly I'm still slogging through them so I don't have any real updates but I will have some soon.

As promised fresh off the painting block my renegade militia men, I have a second batch to do but they won't be done for a while, the total number of militiamen completed today is 107, I'm quite proud of them and look forward to pitching them against some loyalist scum!

Yes I would say that is a horde to be proud of!

Small update, my reinforcements will hopefully be here soon, i wanted to pose a question to everyone, would people like a step by step update with the mutants? or maybe a break down of parts used? of course for everything else it'll be just building and painting but I'm curious if anyone would be interested in seeing the mutants being built up, anyway I should have an update in about a week which will probably be more renegade militiamen, until then, Glory to chaos!

My soon to be mutants have arrived, honestly a little daunted by them, but they should prove an interesting project alongside a few more cultists I bought.

I've been a little busy as of late, sadly not worked on the mutants at all as I'm still gathering bits for them, but I have made some more renegade militiamen, I've managed to get another command squad, and another 30 militiamen who are now armed with a variety of special weapons, I should tomorrow have some heavy weapons finished

Hello everyone, it's been a while I have been very busy but I've managed to get a load of renegades fully completed (sorry about the terrible photos) I've managed to get a load of tanks sprayed and I've gotten the warzone figures ready to be sprayed and then painted so hopefully you'll see some more updates soon

Hello everyone! just a quick update I've been struggling through the warzone miniatures for a main reason which is conversions, I do intend to use them as chaos cultists simply because they fit the role nicely namely due to the sheer number I have, however I find they are a little too similar so I'm trying to find an inexpensive way to make them look more "culty" i am open to suggestions on how to achieve this, thank you in advance

Hello all! it's been awhile, I sadly haven't made much progress on the renegades since my last updates, although i have managed to buy even more cultist's but I do have some good news I will be playing a friendly game against some fierce Black Dragon's space marine's, along with some imperial guard flyers, ill be posting the army list tomorrow along with photos of the army on the tabletop and a small battle report, fingers crossed this will get me motivated to finish some more renegades ready for more games in the future

Hello everyone! Terribly sorry for not immediately posting the battle report as I was sort a lot of stuff out, and pondering how to layout the report, so I shall begin with the list involved and photos of said list, and then some more posts with a turn by turn break down, it won't be fully indepth but it will be more so than my usual reports quick note as well, my opponent ran an unbound army to help test his new guard flyers
My list is as follows
Renegade commander with plasma pistols and power sword
Renegade commander with plasma pistols and chain sword
Malefic lord

6x 10 man militia squads with 2 plasma guns and a heavy bolter and vox in each
2x 30 man cultist squad with autopistol and brutal close combat weapons, 3 flamers and shotgun
1x 30 man cultist squad with autogun, heavy stubbers and shotgun

2x 5 man marauder squads with 2 melta guns and lasguns each
6 man plague ogryn squad
2x5 disciple squads with a plasma gun and lascannon in each
Renegade command squad with a vox, banner of hate and a plasma gun
3 chaos spawn
1 leman russ punisher with 3 heavy bolters
1 leman russ exterminator with a lascannon and 2 heavy bolters

Quick note my opponent allowed me to use the old renegade psychic powers for my malefic lord and he took warp flux

Turn 1 Opponents turn
And so it begins, we rolled to see who went first and true to form I rolled terribly and the space marines went first, immediately the guard flyers rushed forward to lay waste to my hordes of heretics, they inflicted a number of wounds of my exterminator leman russ and killed a full squad of disciples out right.

Turn 1 My turn
In true heretic fashion, I panicked and unloaded as much as I could into two of the flyers to help prevent them knocking out my second russ, I managed to bring them down, but the third remained unharmed, I did managed to move cultists towards the centre objective, ready for a clash with the marines about to take it.

Turn 2 opponents turn
As the turn began the marines pushed forward, a intercessor squad captured the objective in the centre, and a sneaky squad of eliminators, which I forgot to add had been sat on the 2nd objective located to my left hand side of the table, they would prove a thorn in my side for a number of turns, the flyer repositioned itself on the left hand side to lend support, I forgot to take a photo of it but a intercessor squad moved up ready to support them, in the centre I lost almost a full squad of cultists to bolter fire and the marines prepared to meet my cultists assault with combat blades ready. (i also lost the exterminator due to fire from the flyer)

Turn 2 My turn
The loss of dozens of my heretics caused me to move my 2nd close combat cultist unit along with the survivors of the first unit towards the marines holding the centre, ready to charge them and hopefully deny them using their superior firepower against me, again, I combined with my renegades commanders and command squad closer to buff my cultists and a marauder squad to help kill off the marine characters located behind the centre objective, on my left flank I moved my cultist squad forward along with a single marauder and my ogryn and a spawn, the ogryn and spawn charged the marine squad hoping to again deny them the ability to lay waste to my infantry with their firepower.
