UPDATE:

http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=4628

When you field the GR-75, the expansion’s rules for energy provide you with a wide range of means to interact with other ships. The GR-75‘s maximum energy capacity is indicated by the purple number above its agility value, and new rules allow your transport to both gain energy and spend it to power a brand-new action and activate a host of new upgrades. Altogether, the tactical possibilities they afford make the GR-75 a uniquely rewarding X-Wing starship.

The GR-75 comes with four actions in its action bar:

The recover action allows the GR-75 to spend all its stored energy to regain a number of shields equal to the energy spent, possibly taking your transport from zero shields back to full.
The GR-75 is divided into two sections, fore and aft, and if you take the Reinforce action, you can reinforce one of those sections, adding an evade result to all defense results against attacks directed at that section until the end of the round.
The jam action allows the GR-75 to assign stress tokens to an enemy starship within Range 1–2 until that starship has a total of two stress tokens.
With its coordinate action, the GR-75 can grant a free action to any friendly ship within Range 1–2.

Though the recover action is the only one that explicitly calls for the use of energy, the Rebel Transport’s upgrade cards introduce other uses for energy that interact nicely with the ship’s other actions.

You could use a Comms Booster to remove all stress from a friendly starfighter, assign it a focus token, and then give it a free action with the GR-75’s coordinate action with a Comms Booster.
You could use the GR-75’s jam action to force stress tokens onto enemy starfighters before using Slicer Tools to deal them damage.
Or you could reinforce your GR-75’s fore or aft section before using a Shield Projector to redirect an attack intended for a friendly starfighter.
No matter how you outfit this huge ship, its energy-based effects will add all new dimensions to your X-Wing battles.

That looks pretty cool. Being able to recharge shields and use shield projectors and things like that to support starfighters sounds like it could definitely add a lot to the game.

Any word yet on what the big Imperial ships will be?

Looks awesome to me. Seems like ships that being could almost just have terrain. Good to see that they spent more effort than they could have.

A rumour the other day stated it will be the Lancer Class Frigate;

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Lancer-class_frigate

Which a lot of people seemed to get angry over, but it makes sense. The Tantive IV had weapons to combat fighters, fielding Star Destroyers seems pointless as they weren't made to combat fighters, but other Capitol Ships. Lancer Class is made to combat small fighters.

I'd love to see the Lancer, although with the role it filled in the fluff...would be deadly if operating at full capacity(most rarely did, complex systems and hard to repair). It is also quite a bit larger than the other ships, being 1/3 again larger than the CR90 Corvette.

That being said, here is a list of ships I would absolutely love to see added and fit the sizes a bit better:

1.) GAT-12j Skipray Blastboat(technically a capital ship) http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/GAT-12_Skipray_Blastboat
2.) Customs Corvette(not sure if they ever gave a canon name to it, but it would fit this role VERY well) http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Light_corvette
3.) Corellian Gunship http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/DP20_frigate
4.) Corellian Action VI Transport(Wild Karrde) http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Action_VI_transport

But hey, if you wanna go bigger like the Lancer, that opens up SO Many ships. :-)

A Lancer-class frigate would be pretty sweet.

A Lancer would be the best choice, I think. The only other thing that came to mind for me, was a Carrack class Cruiser, which is bigger yet again.

The smallest equivalent from the actual films would be something like the Acclamator. Which would too big to be practical, or just too small in scale that it'd look rather pants.

With the Lancer from the EU, it gives them more wiggle room that people won't be complaining about it. On the other hand, I can't see it getting that much sales as it isn't recognisable from the films.

I can't believe nobody remembers the Marauder corvette. It's the perfect size for an X-Wing expansion to match the big rebel ships, and it looks better than any of the alternatives.

I remembered the Maruader from the Han Solo books, it is the standard cruiser of the Corporate Sector. But it is also the size of a Carrack, which are both larger than the Lancer. So I didn't include them in my list.

You've got your sizes confused. A quick search gives 250m for the Lancer, 190m for the Marauder, and 150m for the CR90.

There's this too. Not a bad looking ship and it's a lot like the Corvette.

Interesting that the basic ship doesn't cost many points.

A bonus X Wing in the box as well. May do a few ebay sales to fund a purchase.

I felt that they should make the YT-2400/Outrider from the 'Shadows of the Empire' game on the Nintendo64. It would give the Rebels a second 2x2 ship to match the Empire anyway. Its probably just too similar to the YT-1300 or on hold for a later wave but that was my Starship love affair out of the Star Wars universe. I'm not sure how much I like the way they are doing these two new ones honestly, I mean if you can't get an Iconic Star Destroyer in the game...why do these? The Tantive IV is at least awesome looking but I don't know, I just feel like we're kicking the Imperials around by not lining up an equally awesome ship for them in the GR-75 Transports spot in the release wave. I just can't help but feel there was a better way to design into these class of ships really. Probably still going to get both though LOL

I'm not sure why the Imperials can't take a Correlian Corvette. It's "officially" a rebel ship, but was definitely used by both sides.

It'd be fun to have "Cruiser Clash" scenarios.
