I was wondering what the differences between the two are. Thanks to anyone who helps.

Kill team is an adaptation of a wargame to be played with armies to work on a squad level, whereas necromunda is a game created to work on skirmish level. It has more in-depth rules for movement, shooting etc, and also for character advancement and equipment purchase (as it is intended for campaign play).

Why must I always choose beween certain death and probable death.

A big difference between the two is the theme. Kill Team uses standard 40k armies, (usually) representing professional soldiers with good equipment, and often the elites of the army (sternguard/crisis suits/etc). Your army will be pretty much the same as a "normal" 40k game, except with fewer models on the table. Necromunda, on the other hand, represents rival criminal gangs equipped with whatever garbage they can scavenge. So, BS 3 is an amazing marksman, a lasgun is a priceless relic and heavy weapons are virtually nonexistent, armor is pretty much irrelevant since hardly anyone can afford armor that offers a save against even the weakest weapons and carapace armor (which is usually only a 5+ or 6+ save, at best) is the best you can buy at all. And of course marines/xenos/etc don't exist at all. So it's a pretty limited set of rules: great if you enjoy the theme it offers, useless if you want something else.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

A free set of rules where your army list is a selection of specialists and generalists. You start off with money and start making your gang. How you make your gang is up to you.

Then as the games progress your gang gains skills and gear which gradually improves their fighting ability. You will lose men and have to spend hard earned loot to replace them (sometimes they get wounded and so on) and gradually you develop a team of well trained and equiped warriors.

Designed to be played over time with a bunch of friends rather than a quick game every so often. So once you choose your gang restarting can really hurt you.

Each gang has its own flavour and this will change the gear you have and so on. Weither its arbites or a bunch of warrior women the choice is yours. (there are more choices...)

Since the rules are free to download it wont hurt to go have a look. It seems weird at first but after a few games it gets very enjoyable. But very different from 40k. Much more customisation but you dont start the game with the ability to kill everything.

I think i covered it.

This is something I've wondered as well, thanks for the answer.

No problem, but it is hard to get used to, you need to play a few games to start seeing the fun side as its not normal GW style stuff that you see now.

The necromunda rules were based on the 2nd edition 40k rules. They were massively unwieldy for full armies, but turned out to be pretty damn good for gang skirmishes

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
