For me personally it's more like, if I'm going to spend $125 and 5, 10, however many hours building and painting this thing, it's not worth it if I have to think about if I'd be able to take it to a local tournament or whatever.

Because people making up rules is easily abused and especially among friends it can be hard to say "Hold on a minute".
For example, our game group once had houserules for really custom characters. This led to custom units which then led to an entire homebrew Codex that won every single game. Anecdotal I know but you'll find a lot of people have similar stories or things about people using non-original material for their rules and doing a bit of un/intentional cheating.
Among good friends who have similar mindsets it can be done but at your local with a group of acquaintances it's going to be a lot harder.

Though it's bit different to adding one keyword to gw unit datasheet. As far as house rules that's one of the most reasonable ones.
But yeah no luck for tournaments or random games in flgs you haven't pre-arranged and instead just show up.

But yeah no luck for tournaments or random games in flgs you haven't pre-arranged and instead just show up. We actually have that very discussion in our group right now, with no result so far. The chaos knights player wants to add just one keyword so he can use his FW knight which obviously is an abhorrent class properly within his crusade force. Now the next ones wants proper keywords for FW battlesuits and TS legacy units. Another TS player already starts planning a list around getting access to pre-nerf warptime through legacy. A player asks to remove martial legacy. While they were at it, I asked if we could fix biker nobz and give the battlewagon keyword to the kannonwagon and the squig keyword to squiggoths. Someone claims this would be too strong for snakebites (it's not). One player is confused by all this and suggests not using too many house rules. A marine player chips in that GW did leave out those keywords for a reason. Multiple people agree that FW rules are a mess to big to fix. We are back to square one. "just use house rules" only works for a very small group of perfectly aligned people or for groups were few can forcibly push their houserules on others.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks do not think that purple makes them harder to see. They do think that camouflage does however, without knowing why.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

Yeah, in my experience implementing house rules often requires rules bartering (i.e. "sure you can do that if I can do this"). More often than not one person tables an offer that is less reasonable than the other and the agreement either falls apart because of it or the agreement proceeds and falls apart later due to escalation.

Anybody knows the base size for the new daemon prince? From what I´ve gathered online there seems to be a consensus on 60mm, but it does feel way too small for how the new mini looks.
I´m currently painting a kitbashed one and would´nt like to be stuck with the wrong base size.

I'll be very glad if it stays 60mm.

I was hoping for them to go to 100mm like the charater DPs, or at least get to 80mm.

Was not expecting rules for Traitor Guard. At least, not before the AM Codex was released.
They seem to be a little better than Cultists.

1 more points gives them a 5+, which seems worth it.
Do they have any other benefits besides getting other Special Weapons that I'm missing?

As well as getting longer ranged buffing from the chaos commissar.
