It's not that bad, guys! I made a list to try with friends. Our local meta doesn't have many flyers, and all of this is just models I have (except I'm using Hive Guard as counts-as Biovores because I don't like the Biovore model and Hive Guard are a lot less effective now)

Hive Tyrant -
Wings
TL Devourers

Hive Tyrant 205
Lash Whip and Bonesword
Heavy Venom Cannon

Tyrant Guard x2 100

Zoanthrope 50

Venomthrope 45

Warriors x3 -110
Barbed Strangler, 2 Deathspitter

Termagants x30 120

Termagants x30 120

Hormagants x20 100

Biovore x3 120

Tyrannofex 205
Rupture Cannon

Carnifex x3 405
Crushing Claws

The Carnifexes are probably the least effective use of points, and I can do something else with them. I can also make the Tyrannofex a Tervigon. I know that adding a Trygon or couple more FMCs to get in the opponents' face while the swarm rolls up is the best plan, but I don't have the models.

Thoughts? Mostly dealing with MEQs, not a super-competitive meta.

Looks OK (looking at 2nd list). I don't like the Non-Flyrant I think having 2 FMCs just draws fire better and makes target priority harder.

I think the Carnifexes need devourers so they can start pulling their Weight turn 2-3. As is they are going to be doing something so late your opponent can completely ignore them whilst dealing with the Flyrant and Tfex. But Carnifexes are very strong in this codex so don't drop them just get them better equipment . Having all 3 with Crushing claws is hugely inefficient. 1 with CC is enough between 3d3 S9 HoW and 10 S9 attacks plus 1 set of 5 S10 2d6 pen attacks they'll kill ANY vehicle they fight so the extra CCs are just wasted points. Adrenal glands are useful on Fexes again now as they give fleet.

Tfex could do with a buddy though you lose the Biovores warriors with stranglers can do basically the same job. Again like the Flyrant duel threat and redundancy is the name of the game. If you had more Zoanthropes I would advise them.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

I've got two hive tyrants, one has wings. I also wanted some redundant synapse so I can play to objectives without Tervigons. If I were to get a second Flyrant, I would definitely have to have a Tervigon instead of a Tyrannofex.

I'll drop the crushing claws on the carnifexes, it's just how I've got them modeled. I don't know if I want to make them shooting models. The way I see it there's enough stuff for any non-Tau opponent (fortunately we don't have Tau or Eldar players) to worry about shooting that the carnifexes won't be top priority. Plus I don't like the way dakkafexes look.

1-3 more zoanthropes are definitely on the list. They were last edition too, I just never got any and ran my solo zoanthrope as the Doom instead.

I'm thinking that adding a unit of Gargoyles would be a good idea. Thoughts?
