Hey Dakka

I'm looking for a different model for the Battle tank. I love the tank hate the model.
Has anyone seen anything the same size? I was thinking a WW2 Panther but I haven't been able to find one a similar size.

Any help would be great.

Already bought the tanks (£9 each!) and they are very nice kits.

I used the Chimera chassis with Predator turret and sponsons to do my 2 Russes. I shortened the transport compartment and hid the lasgun ports to make it look a little more battletanky.

I'm in a similar boat, and I found a cool pseudo KV-1 28mm heroic tank that Anarchy Models is putting out.

The Tinnelon Pattern Hull; and,

The Tinnelon Pattern Turret.

The only downside is that he hasn't made the tracks yet, but he plans on doing a whole series of hulls for IFVs and SPGs of various sorts. I like them because they have that historical feel while still feeling 40k-ish enough with the rivets and proper size.

this lists what scale models fit for 40k

1/48 Panther is roughly similiar size. Half of an inch lower and almost an inch longer. Look into my gallery, there is a comparsion. I can make more pics if you wish.

Leman Russ compared to PzKpfw V Panther Ausf. G - 1/48 by Tamyia.

They are really very similiar in dimensions, I belive it won't do any significant shenanigans on the table.
