Did not see this posted yet but the tyranid marketing email has actual deals in it. 2 Carnis for $90, And a swarm for $170.

Plus its the first time I have ever seen them talk about what a deal it is. "95 Minis. One Fantastic Price"

Seems odd after the few weeks they have had with the stock hammering. Maybe they actually learned a lesson....

Still, it is to much hope to think this is the start of new policies... But it is a warm good hope at least

The swarm deal is retail 258.75 for 170 that is SIGNIFICANT savings....

I'll be happy when they offer some of these deals up on their older sock. It is something they could roll out fairly easily, it would promote a sense that they were looking after their customers, and they'd be encouraging people into the hobby.

They would still be making a killing on all the FW items and the other over-priced models they have been releasing for the last five years or so.

Is it direct only or can those deals be had at retail (and therefore greater discounts)?

Pretty sure they are available at retailers. Similar to how the holiday "formations" were available.

Sure they did not send out the emails with the wrong currency?

I had to doubletake to make sure it was not pounds.

The Tyranid Swarm, Space Marine Megaforce, and the Dark Elf Warhost of Naggaroth seem to be the "new" way that GW is making battalions. The Dwarf release will confirm/deny that though.

The tyranid mega force is almost approaching Mantic-big box discounts. Very nice to see. A carni in there plus all those little guys? That's a very fair deal, less than $2 a mini, and that includes the carni at that price. Good show GW. This is how you win back customers. 100% approve. No sarcasm either, I'm dead serious. I'm very impressed.

THe Eldar Ghost Warriors box (which I bought) had 3 squads of Wraithguard/blades, 2 Wraithlords, and 1 wraithknight for $270, with all of the weapon options. The wraithguard/blade box of 5 costs $50, and the Wraithknight is $115. So you are paying $5 for 2 wraith lords which cost around $46 each. Almost $90 of savings. The Tau box was a great deal too.

Add on the 25% discount my FLGS gives us on GW stuff and I paid $203 (before tax) on $356 worth of models.

At 20% off from Miniature Market (with free shipping) I'm looking at $136 shipped for 90 infantry models and a carnifex (oh and ripper swarms). Or even cheaper thru Discount Games Store. This might be the first GW thing I buy in a long while - Tyranids are great models and I'd happily use them as a baddie bug force in generic sci fi gaming/Tomorrow's War/Stargrunt II/etc to fight my Viridians/Pig Iron troopers/Copplestone soldiers/Mantic Enforcers/SST Skinnies/etc

My dissatisfaction with Mantic is at an all time high, if GW start becoming value for money they've won me back.

For some reason I was on GW AU instead of GW US.

So I went to check out these deals for myself and couldn't believe my eyes. I thought GW went crazy and raised the price on everything!

But yeah, I stayed calm and figured it out.. but for a few seconds it was wild.

Anyway, this is a pretty nice deal for Nid Players. Hopefully GW makes sets like this for all armies (Fantasy and 40k). If they made a comparable Lizardmen deal, I think I'd actually start a new army.

I know-I'm considering doing the same. The value is awesome and so is the content amount. Once again, kudos GW. A job well done.

This is actually very cool. Hopefully it's a trend that continues.

They probably realized the need to attract players with good prices since the disappointing codex wont be doing it.

Its been so long since I saw one of those multibuy deals that was worth buying (assuming you actually want/like the figures in it that is)
It'd be nice if they did it to clear out the old stock as said above; might be possible on the plastics and resin, the metals I suspect theyre better off to melt down and sell as metal instead of figures if they were to lower the price too far.... Don't know what the actual price on the material is mind you, but if they go low enough someone would buy it all to do just that and turn a profit.

When you get the swarm at a discount (thank you FLGS) it becomes a steal!

Hmm... must hit up my local employee to get that Ghost box 40% off!

Wow, if I actually wanted to play nids that would be one heck of a deal. I think I remember seeing one of these at a local FLGS.

Hopefully they'll do one for orks and IG when their codexes come out too. Probably too much to hope that IG will have new, better looking models, but if they made a box like this for orks even with the current models I'd be hard pressed not to buy it.

Meh... it's gonna take more than a few deals to win customers back.

I was thinking about jumping into Nids, but am not really interested in a ton of Gaunts. Hope to see other kinds of deals though.

We all know this same deal is on the GW website right? It's not a "deal", its the "price". I'm not saying its not a bargain, but its just the price.

This is why I keep staying w/ GW. They are doing good if you ask me.

Hah, I was just looking at the "one click collection" and its the exact same price as it is ala carte. To the penny. Why would you even put that there? Why does that exist?

As much as I have been bemoaning prices lately I have to admit that this is not a bad deal.
