Hi there,

I am still trying to find some use for my 20 marauders which came in the batallion box. I know theres a lot of hate towards them in the new book. I find they cost alot once upgraded and still are kinda...meh

My worry with having a level 2 Sorcerer in a unit of warriors with shields is that eventually this unit is supposed to see combat. We are strictly talking in a small points game where the only real punch i have is a Chariot. So i will need something to act as an anvil.

Would it be such a bad idea to keep unmarked Sorcerer with 20 naked marauders with MoS (so they dont flee as soon as they get shot up) and hold back throwing fireballs or those Lore of Metal damage spells ?
In the mean time warriors march and hopefully survive long enough for chariot to countercharge ? I also might be able to squeeze a unit of 5 knights in there or simply add more warriors to the existing unit. I dont want to use more than 15 of them though....

The marauders would have to have the same mark as the sorcerer. Running them as a bunker isn't bad.

If the sorcerer has no mark he can be placed with any unit, not matter what its mark is.

Well, if you play games under 1500 points, marauders/marauder riders are nice, cause the rest of WoC units are very expensive in points. The enemy kills only 3-4 chaos warriors/chosen/forsaken and voila! PANIC!!! With marauders you can afford losing a few without fleeing. 1500 points or more, just take 10 and use them to distract the enemy, drow fire, block charges etc
