Hey everyone. So If anyone has ever played the mass effect triology then you know what is about but I've always thought the Mass effect universe could be a great wargame . Think about it Krogan battle squads facing down human alliance ground marines for control of a world in the attican traverse. Now obviously Shepard him/herself wouldn't be in the game but it could be set before the triology or during when all the chaos erupts during ME 3. Is it too far-fetched or challenging or could it be a great idea?

It's a nice idea, I suppose the most likely thing would be for an existing miniature making company to get hold of the license.

Otherwise, Infinity is probably the closest thing going available currently - in fact the 'Mass Effect' style aesthetic is one of the biggest influences on the style of the game and miniatures, other than Anime.

I would be far more interested in a ship combat game set in the Mass Effect universe.

I would play the *Expletive Deleted* out of a ME game. Especially if it was skirmish sized.

The First Contact Wars, playing as Turians?! GET THE *Expletive Deleted* IN.

Couldn't agree more - One of the key attractions of Infinity was the ME style universe. I still haven't started Infinity, but it's on my list!

Sounds like a cool idea. I always loved the ME designs and the different races would make interesting factions.

Then again, I wouldn't say no to a RPG rulebook either.

See, now I'm sad because this was a hypothetical question and we're not getting a licensed Mass Effect table top game.

I may regret saying this, but I'm trying to cobble together a Mass Effect RPG. Haven't worked on it in months but if it ever gets done, I'll could let you know.

A mass effect game would require a big company and a big budget :( We approached EA about licensing minis as a skirmish game based on my rules for Blackwater Gulch and they said "thanks but no thanks", because we were too new of a company and they wanted a proven long term track record and all that stuff. And from what I understand the price would have been really, really high too.

I would really love to see mass effect minis some day though, however gets to make them

To be honest, I think its only the miniature that are missing. Infinity is just about made for it, big strong aliens, creepy squishy aliens, tech abilities, mostly transferable/mass effecty weapons, etc.

If the miniatures were available, it'd be wicked. Corvus Belli should do them themselves. Release Mass Effec: Infinity. Same (but seperate) game, new faction lists, few different weapons and abilities. It'd be easy.

Maybe not easy.

I'd personally love a line of Mass Effect 15mm minis. If you're looking for some Mass Effect themed ship to ship gaming Studio Bergstrom carries some great "not Mass Effect" models.

I would support this 100% if Corvus Belli made multipart plastic kits for the ME line. Someone should email them EA's contact information.

Deadzone could fit it fairly well. Skirmish based, my friend painted up some convincing Cerberus soldiers out of enforcers, replace a few models and rebs make a nice "sheps party".

Infinity is excellent for a visual style like Mass Effect, and definitely has inspired models (Some Nomads look like Asari, Quarians, while the Tohaa are all pretty much whatever race Thane was).

For space combat, you could probably try Firestorm Armada. It's gameplay style resembles the Mass Effect space battles.

You know, hat I think about it. For the space combat game, someone did produce Mass Effect ships. I did see them some months ago. I'm trying to figure out where. But bear with me.

Same, some kind of Necromunda-esc game would go down greatly as well. Hell I'd kill for someone to take up the license for a tabletop RPG, still can't believe some one is doing Dragonage, the weaker of the two settings in a saturated fantasy market, and no one has grabbed Mass Effect for a Sci-fi game.
