I was wondering if anyone was using any other figures for Infinity that fit in quite well with the existing aesthetic?.Hasslefree does nice civilians to scatter around a skirmish zone, but I was looking for some figures that would represent mercenaries or planetary defences milling around a base or joining in a firefight. Any ideas?

Hasslefree has a new male and female future infantry trooper model out (in resin, atm - but in metal eventually). Some of the deadzone enforcer faction models would probably fit in as well.

I like, was looking for a large amount of grunts though, not sure Enforcers fit the best.

I've often seen hasslefree referenced and have looked through them quite a bit. The seem to be a bit like reaper to me, have a huge range of different models, but you wouldn't exactly use them for your core guys. Just to add in a bit of variation. (Then again that was for warhammer, with the model count in infinity you could well use all hasslefree guys.) I've never got anything from hasslefree but I've always felt their models were a bit squat. I guess this is somewhat due to many being single cast metal/pewter models but compared to the lean aesthetic of infinity how do they compare? Could you post a pic of those hasslefree models next to a CB infinity model Chromedog?

You could try Antenociti's Governance of Terra range. Of all the other miniature ranges out there think they fit the aesthetic and also miniature proportions the closest
http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/antenocitis/g-o-t-figures-1.html
These are probably the closest to a kind of planetary/defence type force
The also do a range of more security-type troopers,
As well as some police-type guys.
Hope that's useful!

Rahxephon, check my gallery, I think I have some Hasslefree in situ or next to Infinity figures. The modern troopers are very close to true scale, and fit in very well with lower tech factions, like Ariadna. Automatically Appended Next Post: And the Hasslefree webpage seems to indicate the new minis Chromedog showed are slated for a plastic release.
If that is so...

They've been released? Awesome. Might have to do my first Hasslefree order. I've been waiting for them to use as Ahl Fassed. Resin makes it far better because I'll be able to snip the weapons off easier and replace with Infinity weapons.

I use a bunch of the Statuesque Miniatures to proxy as Russian Ariadna troops, and they are absolutely brilliant. Very few mold lines, crisp details, and absolutely brilliant sculpts.
I will also be using some of the Dust Tactics miniatures because I got them super cheap and they'll be easily converted to other Kazak style troops (Tank Hunters, Scouts, Line Kazaks and Doktors etc). About $7AUD per box plus shipping from ebay, ridiculous prices. Just received them and they are way too big, don't think of them as a viable option.
I do like the new Hasslefree gun style the miniatures above have, will need to get some of those when the plastics come out. Hope they sell them separately.

Nope. I'm just leeching pics from DWartist, here. I have no hasslefree miniatures bar a handful of sprues of their pulse rifles.
I'll get some of these when I can get around to it. They need a purpose for me to get them - I don't just buy shiny shiney because they are new anymore.
(Did this in my younger gaming days, though. Now I'm older, somewhat greyer, and more careful with my money. )

Not sure if necroing this thread, but I've been looking around for some miniatures I could use to replace the haqqislam muttawi'ah.
The Governance of Terra from Antenocitis seems to be replaced by governance of technology, and I don't really like the sculpts..
Sedition wars looks good, but wouldn't fit Haqqislam I think, Dust tactics seems to fit Ariadna and Pan'o, maybe some ghulam from Haqqislam, but nothing really close to something useful imho.
So I'm left with using Kuang Shi from the Infinity range to stand in as muttawi'ah (they look pretty plain, and already have chainrifles), or use some hasslefree minis and try to sculpt something similar to a chainrifle, or anything that would count as :p
Anyone else still has ideas, or came across interesting sculpts?
I found these models from hasslefree painted up:

Just FYI. Might want to wait. I know they're awful sculpts, but in June IIRC we're getting a new box of 4. It was meant to be February but got pushed back.

Those Hasslefree miniatures are very cool! Guess they might serve for Ariadna perhaps, they're recognisably current technology (or near it) and would probably fit that aesthetic best.
The big issue with alternative Infinity minis is the proportions of the Corvus Belli miniatures. They are (especially releases from the past few years onwards) very, very delicate. For that reason I think even though the Sedition Wars miniatures fit the style in some respects (I've heard of people using them for 0-12 miniatures for instance) but even they have hands and heads that are a little over-sized.
And, I remain to be convinced about any Dust miniatures that would fit either the aesthetic or proportions!

From what I've seen, it's fairly common to use those models in Ariadna for missing models. The shotgun guy second from the right is pretty common for an SAS boarding shotgun.

I'm using this guys: http://www.hfminis.co.uk/shop?product=giant~hfa118&category=miniatures~modern-troopers
As 1 of my Muttawi'ah, the other being the lady from the old box.
I painted him black, of course. The size of the Modern Troopers is is O.K, I also use one other model as a Hunzakut.

I'm of the opinion that those Hasslefree modern and sci-fi figures would be good replacements for the Nomads troops in QK. Replace the Alguaciles with the modern troops (you can even do the special weapon options) and use the power armored figures in place of the Mobile Brigada.
