Stalker. One shot is wretched.

Unless you're playing a game in which you know for certain that your opponent is bringing a lot of flyers, either one seems rather pointless...

Stalker is so much better than the hunter. 4 S7 AP4 with the option to target two units (at BS2) as opposed to the 1 S7 AP2 (armourbane) shot that when you miss has a 1/3 chance of coming back to hit the unit. The stalker also has TL, so when your opponent runs out of fliers (or if they didn't bring any), you tank isn't completely useless.

I'd go with the Stalker of the two myself.

With the prevalence of FMC and powerful skimmers in many of the top builds only having skyfire isn't as crippling as I first thought.

Stalker hits skimmers. Can't think of any skimmers that i might want to spam to death. Not at all.......

I think the low points cost makes it a solid anti air choice, as for which one it depends,

The multiple shots is ideal for of you expect to see a lot of flyers,

I personally prefer having the potential target lock, if you hit happy days, if you don't then your opponent has an important decision to make, stay on and risk getting hit on rear armour or leave the table and miss a shooting phase

The only bad part of the Stalker is that it takes a precious heavy slot. Stalkers should be attached to tactical squads like a "dedicated AA tank" to make tactical squads not a total disaster. Even this would still be inferior to the Eldar, but whatever.

Penetrating armor is so 5th edition. 6th is all about the wound spam. Scatter lasers don't penetrate anything really, but they still dominate meq lists.

Well...most fliers can just come on and nuke it...it's really better if you're facing a lot of FMCs.

But, it does mean that something else gets to live for a turn while my Crimson Hunter tears through a Stalker.

I think the stalker looks goofy. The Hunter is a much better looking gun, so it gets my vote.

Not that I have plans on picking up either. If I want to use a HS slot to keep the skies clear, I’ll take a stormraven.
