Great report, and bonus applause for including the list in text at the beginning. Finally your Tyranid lists start to look like the competitive lists everywere else.

I'm not sure spam Adams should have been wasting shots at termagants all game - but it could have been the only targets he was presented with. Good use of crones to take out scoring units.
One rules blip - jetbikes cannot go to ground nor be pinned. So the horror wouldn't have worked on them.
iNcoNTroL, have you considered any of the tyranid data slates? The deathleaper assassin brood is great for -1 ld debuffing and presenting multiple targets to overwhelm the enemy. Endless swarm paired with a trygon tunnel looks really promising too. I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

Great report. Thanks for sharing. I think this also showcases the importance of updated terrain for 6th edition as well as monstrous creatures can work for Tyranids. Very tactical game and the Taudar player's assessment was spot one: should have gone second and should not have castled. Tyranid player was patient and worked for late game board control.
And I got my Megamat yesterday and it is really cool!
No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Nice looking Nid army, I'm also happy to see them win, and everyone have fun. Even if Taudar goes second, there's a 2/3 chance that the game's going to turn 6, so it could have very well ended up in a similar fashion since the jetbikes and farseer were all wiped. Usually I feel like the games are 1 sided as the Tyranids walk in a conga line into the Tau gunline. I guess it depends on the mission type, Emperor's Will / Crusade is a good mission for Nids, compared to Purge The Alien, Relic or something along those lines.
We have a Game Mat, a Zuzzy, and a custom board at work where we play, and I think they all have their advantages and disadvantages. The Game Mat is a nice quality, and lightweight portable option which you don't have to paint ( took me weeks to paint the Zuzzy ). It also has the advantage of not damaging metal models when they fall. After seeing one in person I'd recommend them to other people for table top games, or if they use a mouse the size of my dog.
Who did the artwork for those?

Actually, Senior Goat, we need to get some art for Spam Adam's Triptide Tau (The Red Tide) I will email you. As a bonus to our teammates now, when they fully pain their army, we will have you bust some art out for them as a present!
If anyone wants to hit up Goatboy for art, I recommend it very much! Reasonable prices, fast turn times and awesome artwork.
@Sarigar
Glad you like your mat!
@Eldarcaveman
Some of the big buildings are Amera plastic terrain. They aren't much to look at, but they're very cheap, and fairly easy to make. We get a lot of their big pieces as it makes for excellent LoS blocking terrain.
The Foamcore buildings are all scratch built, and we are working on getting some tutorials up to show how to make them.
I seriously cannot stress enough how much more fun the game is to play on a table with true LoS blocking terrain. it makes games infinitely more tactical and tense.
Great job Geoff there is hope for Tyranids yet! I actually am waiting for my Crones/Harpies and Exocrines to come in from FLG then I shall commence devouring the universe as well.

Awesome man I'll keep an eye out for those tutorials, need to go terrain building bad for my 40k tournament later in the year.
Dakka is the ork word for shooting, but the ork concept of shooting is saturation fire. Just as there is no such thing as a "miss" in a target-rich environment, there is no such thing as a "dodge" in a bullet rich one
