Well... I... guess the Orbital Bombardment. At some point Angron is going either blow up, starve to death or asphyxiate.

Angron loses by virtue of being one of the weaker Primarchs. Plus even if the orbital bombardment failed, eventually the atmosphere will be blown off, and the planet cracked.

Magnus on the other hand, would be a much "fairer" fight.

I think if angron got angry enough he could probably jump into low orbit and shred some space ships. That or throw some dead world eaters at them because he don't use guns. All assuming you aren't talking daemon style angron. Daemon angron would have no problem

Last thread with a similar theme had something of a ''a SOB with a meltagun will insta-kill a primarch'' thing going on, it was fun and I like to think that even tho they're strong and whatnot, even the primarch couldn't survive their face being melted away, but alas...

Then there's Vulkan, who'll simply regenerate/incarnate into a new body upon being hit. Primarchs are supernatural demigods born from a living god. They bite the dust about as easily as the demigods of Greek mythology, if not harder.

That's funny because I remember a primarch getting taken out by a demolisher cannon. When you think about it that's way less than D weaponry.

They really kinda don't...
I mean don't get me wrong they are incredibly power individuals, each of who have their own unique talents and skills. They are an incredible force to be reckoned with but at the end of the day they are but flesh and blood. Their armour is much nicer but still just power armour or terminator armour.
If they were hit by a weapon so devastating it can slice through feet of armour plating then they will die. A meltagun is more often than not overkill for a regular sized tank. It will cut through a primarch just as easily as it would cut through a guardsman or an ork. Hell, if the primarch could actually withstand d-class weaponry why would they even bother with bodyguards or the space marine legions at all? They could have just dropped onto a planet, kicked the gak out of everything and then left.

Fulgrim managed to heal quite rapidly whilst being tortured in a HH novel. Basically he went from charred bone to the beginnings of a foot in a matter of minutes. So it's not just Vulkan who is good at regeneration.

Largely for show, or just to prevent them from being tarpitted in the fluff. Lorgar tanked a titan plasma cannon, Corax took a lascannon his (bare IIRC) chest, Vulkan's straight up immortal and respawns/regens, Magnus is Magnus, Fulgrim has regeneration (albeit not on Vulkan's level) and tanked some sort of D weapon at some point (can't remember what)- the only ones I would really peg as "weak" would be Alpharius/Omegon and Guilliman, but most of the Primarchs are tanks that obliterate most of their opposition. A meltagun would be highly unlikely to kill a Primarch (and some would be straight-up invincible), likely the same with a multi-melta- multiple squads armed with meltas constantly firing would be required. Things get even more lulzy if you take their vague mountain-busting stories literally from the Codices.

But yes, they kinda do.

Orbital Bombardment at best causes a single wound to him which he either shrugs off due to invulnerable save, Feel No Pain, or regens the wound with IWND.

Ah, Primarchs. While my first army is going to be CSM Night Lords, I really want to build a 30k army list, probably Salamanders, just so I challenge unwary 40k players (specifically taudar) and make them cry.

God. Vulkan would eat some Tau for breakfast. I legitimately can't think of what they could possibly do against him. Have him drop pod in or roll in some land raider, and he'd just gib that whole army.

Vulkan is my favorite primarch from a rules standpoint. Not for the fact he's borderline unkillable (though that helps!) but because you literally never have to roll To Hit if you want.

There's also that delicious ability to possibly wipe out entire squads by him being able to target every enemy in a straight eighteen inch line, so long as no allies are in the way. And drop pieplates on anything touching his base. And be completely immune to all pulse weapons.

Man, why does 30K get all the fun toys.

I see my thread is being taken as seriously as it deserves.

Personally, I think that assuming that an 'Orbital Bombardment' only consists of one lance strike is rather silly. THat's not a Bombardment, that's not even a salvo!

so Question that needs to be answered, is this the apoclypse strategic assit orbital strike? or the space Marine chapter master oribtal bombardment?

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
